Remembering Cole Pittman
an opportunity to know Cole

That man is successful who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of the intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.

A request from LonghornGirlie

I did not know Cole Pittman well. We met a couple of times and exchanged only the usual pleasantries. But Cole Pittman has deeply and profoundly touched my life. His spirit has inspired me to be a better friend, better daughter, a better sister and aunt, a better wife, and God willing, someday, a better mother.

I know Cole because his family has generously shared with me, and the world, the heart of this young man that God called Home so early. Cole was not only a talented football player; he was a man who made the most of his gifts not just for himself but for those he loved.

Marc Pittman, Cole's father, asks nothing in return for his generosity in sharing his son with us other than for you to let him know if this experience touches your life. I ask for your assistance in sharing Cole's spirit with other for generations to come by your donation to the Cole Pittman Memorial Fund.

The Cole Pittman Memorial Fund will go to local initiatives in Cole's hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Primarily, it will be used to build a fieldhouse in his name at Evangel Christian Academy, Cole's home church and high school, as well as erect a statue of Cole that will bear both the Evangel logo as well as the University of Texas Longhorn on the helmet. The statue and the fieldhouse will serve not as sad reminders of a lost hero, but as an inspiration of a life well-lived and what family and love can be.

Thank You,
Katy Agnor
