Per Coach Aston on tonight's LHN's Game Plan with Karen Aston:

Emily is a walk-on transfer that was a student manager earlier this season and is now on the team. While Coach Aston said that she is not likely to dress this season, she will next season. Emily is a transfer who spend her first two years at Colorado State University. She hails from Georgetown, Texas. She should be a senior next year. RS Jr.?

    From the CSU website:

    “Georgetown (Texas) High School

Named a team captain in both her junior and senior seasons... During her senior campaign she was named team MVP, leading the Eagles in scoring (13.2 points per game), assists (3.9 assists per game), steals (2.3 steals per game) and was second in rebounding (5.6 rebounds per game)... Shot 49 percent from the field...”

She is # 14 in this video:

I really like it, I felt that coach Aston should hit the juco market this year to try and find another Gigi or healthy Ashley Roberts who could shoot the ball well from the 3 point line. Emily is a very good shooter who will help us alot. I think her mom also played at UT.

Great addition!! Won't dress out for games due to "Shortage of Uniforms"....?? Really? I didn't think Texas was that poor!!:whiteflag::coolnana:

I honestly don't understanding making such a decision/announcement with 3 games left in the regular season; seem like she's been the student manager and a student at UT since the Fall semester. Is this a technicality to establish some sort of sitting out during a transfer year, even though she's not on scholarship?

I love how aggressive she is.I wondered what College's try to recruit her.

DiNO22, she was recruited by Tulsa, Maine, Texas State and Denver. Also a 3 star recruit.

Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Next year trying to play "I didn't play last year so that's my mandatory year off" "yeah that didn't count, you have to be on the team and sitting out for it to count" ... no idea if that's the rule, but with the NCAA it's sure believable.
