Unfreaking believable - but then it is aggy. Wonder what Mack thinks about his choice of schools now?

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Wow. Mack might be having an awh **** moment about his choice.

Over the years Aggy is like an ongoing soap opera / merry-go-round or is it just me?

    There is always:

    drama
    investigations
    discipline problems
    turmoil
    violation of helpless farm animals
    accusations
    scandals
    coaching turnover
    suspensions
    testicle grabbing
    allegations
    great loathing
    lawsuits
    wearing overalls far too often
    dissention
    payoffs
    threats
    questionable grooming habits
    probation
    fear
    delusions
    wars and rumors of war
all male yell leaders dressed as Milkmen
    "WRTS" type ********
    hatred for all things UT

.... over there in Collie Station?

That is all I can think of.

    Why?

In fairness to Fire RC and Aggy, their new hashtag is #WLTS.
    L is for litigate.

Texas A&M officials were quoted this afternoon, asserting “We not only deny the allegations, we deny the Allegator. Whoop!

My understanding is that there is no issue between A&M and chavis.

This is about lsu thinking that chavis owes them 400k. A&M has been brought in because they agreed to pay the buyout. So basically chavis is saying "I don't owe you anything but if I did A&M is going to pay it". Neither a&m nor chavis thinks lsu is owed anything. Lsu feels differently.

I also think that A&M was brought into it so that it would be heard in Texas.

Still think we should just write the check and get over with it.

You might be right on Prop, but thats not what the article says. It states that Chavis and Aggy are in dispute over who should pay, if LSU is indeed owed money.

And it does seem odd, to me anyway, that one would sue their own employer just to have the case heard in the same state.

"The lawsuit, which was filed in Brazos County, Texas, wants a court to decide both whether Chavis owes the money and if A&M would be responsible for paying it."
    LC nailed it. Whoops

    here's A&Ms official statement

    "

"There is not a dispute between Coach Chavis and Texas A&M. The University stands behind its commitment to Coach Chavis to pay any buyout due to LSU. The issue is that Texas A&M disagrees with LSU that any buyout payment is actually due."

Also chavis's lawyer is a prominent member of the a&m community.

I don't think theres any beef between a&m and chavis.

Thanks for the insight, Prop. Still seems odd to sue his employer, but I'm no attorney.

I agree. I think chavis is basically saying I don't owe you (you being lsu) anything but if I did a&m would be the one to pay.

Like I said I wish we would just write the check and get it over with.

As a named Defendant, A&M apparently told Chavis he is on his own ... Aggy lawyer suing Aggy just makes it sound worse ... How's that trademark coming along ... Embarrassing. Joe Wickline didn't sue Texas, just sayin

A&M might have suggested that Chavis bring them into the suit so that it would land in a Texas court and avoid federal jurisdiction, which would happen I think if it were just Chavis vs LSU. I’m guessing.

Prop, that is a first grade article. So aggy and Chavis sue LSU AND Chavis sues aggy but its all strategy? And they plan on paying but want to find middle ground? So honorable of them.

    Statement from chavis's lawyer

"Coach Chavis could not be happier to be the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M. He looks forward to the start of spring practice on Monday and is excited about coaching the Aggies this fall. Texas A&M was included in the lawsuit because it is an indispensable party and its inclusion is necessary to resolve the dispute LSU has created.”

Necessary? It wasn't necessary for Wickline. Not saying it's a bad/good strategy, just wondering how much of this is just lawyer speak to not make Chavis look so bad.

The article I posted earlier has some info as to why the wickline/UT situation may have been handled differently.

I make it a policy to deny the Allegator only when I am certain it is a crocodile.

    Actually LHN's fault.

They are in a world of hurt on this one. If he says he wasn't coaching that is serious NCAA violation. On the other hand if he says he was working that's $400k to LSU.

contracts mean nothing nowadays. if a coach wants to leave there's very little anyone can do to stop him.

Contracts mean nothing when the coach is coming to aggy (this was made perfectly clear), but they mean everything when he is leaving aggy.
