    3-star ..... RB ..... 5-10.5/194 ..... Missouri TCU

The Texas coaching staff extended an offer to 3-star RB Darius Anderson at Saturday's Junior Day.
    Per BON:
A consensus three-star prospect rated at 87, Anderson is the No. 458 recruit nationally, the No. 35 running back, and the No. 64 player in Texas. He's capable of running away from defenders with angles on him in the open field, a trait that helped him rack up over 1,800 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns as a junior.

Still, he's not a burner -- Anderson is at his best using his feet to make defenders miss in short areas and step out of tackles. There are a lot of different scouting terms for the various skills that make up that talent, but for Anderson, it seems more apt to say that it simply comes naturally.

Classified as a pure running back, Anderson is probably more of an all-purpose back, so it's nice to see that he scored three touchdowns through the air on 326 receiving yards in 2014.

    Per Scout:
Anderson puts up big numbers in Texas' largest classification. Possesses good burst in the hole, especially for a long-striding runner. Dangerous cutback ability. Plants and cuts w/little wasted motion. Shows ability to turn moderate gains into huge plays. Consistently extends carries to gain extra yardage. Duck-and-dodge ability in open space. Receiving threat from the backfield. Not a top-end burner, but plenty fast in initial burst.

Get some, lose some. Too bad, he'd have been a good get.
