Does anyone know exactly what this means? I am assuming that it's your ranking in regards to all members, but there is no way I believe the LHF has 18,373 members. Last year, they made it a goal to get to the 13,000 number.

All I know is that I'm number 8,000-something out of 18,000-something. What this means for me, I have no idea.

Sooner or later, The University is going to price me out of tickets altogether. A shame, since I have been a Longhorn fan since the day I was conceived and a football and baseball season-ticket holder for more than 30 years.

"All contributions and season ticket purchases increase your point total, but the quickest way to increase your total and associated ranking is to make a non-seat-related gift to the Longhorn Foundation. Those gifts earn points at a rate of 5 points per $100."...What the h$%*?? Our seat related contributions aren't enough anymore?? That said, I'm 2700 something out of 18375 and don't know what that means or if I keep my seats, park where I've always parked, etc. Nice bombshell LF

It doesn't affect your current season ticket seats

If you log on to donornet there's a "calculator" that shows what you would need do donate to improve your ranking. If I donated a few million I could be #1. Where's my checkbook? :smile1:

Calm down Al-Qaeda. :smile1: As long as you donate the same amount when you originally acquired your seats, you're good.

Hmmm. I logged in to donornet, did my point calculation and it is short on my years with UT football and basketball. They appear to only be counting the years since I upgraded my seats in the lat 90s. I have gradually increased my LF donation since the late 80s so LF issues shouldn't be a problem. Think I'll give my rep a call.

It appears that the LHF is trying to encourage gift giving (donations) thru the Foundation by placing a premium reward on non seat related gifts at a higher points reward than a similar reward for seat related gifts.
IMO there are probably a lot of season ticket holders and LHF members who are satisfied with their seat location and see no benefit in increasing their contribution level to get improved benefits - improved seats, RRR, parking etc.
Lots of donation stuff going on thru the University and this would funnel some donations thru the LHF rather than not.
    Just a thought.

It seems like they're changing a lot up this year. New members will now get to choose tickets based on their donation, instead of them picking the best seats for your donation. They are also charging for parking. They told me they lost $1MM on parking when a lot of people don't even want parking. Now, they're going to let you select parking based on your donation, if you want it, and charge you for it.

So parking is not included for season ticket holding LHF members?

So we know now why the donation date was moved back. LOL regarding the calculator. What if everyone gave to move into the top 2500, for example?

Yep, I was short regarding FB season tickets (listed at 10). Been a season ticket holder since 1998, Mack Brown's first year and Ricky's Heisman.

Yeah, you should have 16 points on Football season tickets alone.

I do everything online and by the phone, so I don't know how it will all work for you mail based folks. Anyway, they said I will get a reservation number to select my parking and it will be based on my donation. The higher the donation, the higher the reservation. The parking lots will be tiered and they said I might expect to pay around $90 for the season.

What this means is that Steverino is moving us toward the Ohio State system -- whatever you donate a particular year is the single determinate of where your seats are. He hasn't made the total plunge quite yet. "Loyalty" will be the next to go. But he's got the lobster in the water and it's not quite reached a boil.

Hire a professional sports basketball facilities guy who has a brick for a heart and who doesn't get the college athletics fan experience and this is what you get. Nice job, Powers, of leaving this POS as a legacy.

They've discovered the error in Season Ticket points and corrected it, well at least for my account.
Remember that survey we filled out last year?

Talked with my LHF Rep this morning and she clarified a couple of questions that I had concerning the new Loyalty Points program.
    - Mon Mar 9th begins online renewals with an email to be sent that day. Paper package will follow via mail.
    - Parking will be allocated based on point totals like in the past on donation level. You will have the opportunity to request which lots you want. Info will be included in Mar 9th email.
    - Pay for parking was not answered as she said the info would be released in the email.
    - The increase from 13K (Football donation members) to 18K (All donations for all sports and season ticket holders) in headcount. Includes non donation season ticket holders and certain non donation members such as T club etc.
    - Ranking for RRS, post season and special events tickets will be based on Reward Point totals rather than current season donation as in the past.

We should know ticket pricing by Monday.

If you are going to make a change, at least do so without errors. Sheesh.

    ^^^ That makes sense

After I posted this my rep called and didn't have any details on parking but that all the info would be in the renewal packet/email.

8,257 out of 18,222. They seem to have all the numbers correct. My personal rep said if you choose to utilize your Loyalty points to move to any other location, you would not keep your present giving total and would pay the prevailing donation level for the new seat location.
Ie: Section 101 row 17 to Section 101 row 16 would increase the donation level required.
He would not comment on parking, said he didn't know. I told him he did know and we both laughed.

How do you know who your Longhorn Foundation Rep is? Do you get a rep if you meet a certain donation amount?

My points were different from yesterday but I think the rank was the same. I've had season tickets for baseball and basketball the same amount of years, but its displaying 2 different values.

Making an obvious statement, but this won't be as big of an issue until we get better. I don't think we sold our allotment of Texas Bowl tickets. But I think either way, it'll drive donations up because people will want better seats.

That "policy" has been in place for previous seasons too
A rep should have contacted you last year. Is your contact info correct with the LHF and UT Athletics?

Yesterday my season ticket points were incorrect. Today they are correct which also changed my point total.

The biggest impact that I can see is cumulative Loyalty Points ranking (New) vs Current Year Contribution ranking (former) is that a member with $30K in cumulative donations and $1500 in current year donations would be a higher ranking than a newer member paying $3K per year for the past two years for $6K in cumulative donations.

This system, seems basically fair, although I hate a hierarchy like this. I'd like to think of all fans as equal.
I think they were thinking of raising prices this year, and ended up lopping off the parking from the price of the season tickets. This is a de facto price rise, snuck in under the cover of darkness. You must give the same donation amount to keep your current season tix. A lot of people give a certain donation to be able to park in certain lots, especially the serious tailgaters. Now they have to pay more to keep their current level of seats and parking. This is a stealth price rise.
And I still believe while the foundation is not raising season ticket prices THIS YEAR, they are likely to do it in the near future.
I wouldn't get too comfortable in your season tix seats, because they may well reorg and reshuffle the deck for all season ticket holders. They may dole out the football seats based on this point system, and end the grandfathered seats you are not in.
We'll see. I expect it at some point.

I concur...why else are we being told after we make our donation we can see if other seats look more attractive and choose to donate additional $$ to sit there? Doesn't sound promising for the future if someone wants my seats or vice versa. Marketing at it's finest. Counting on most of us to be competitive where we rank among our LF peers to generate more $$.
