Kind of surprised this kid didn't get a little more attention. Everybody knows about Zach Gentry but Bruere was actually the best QB in the state of New Mexico Last year.

6'3" 210 lbs. 4.8 guy, Pro Style QB. Threw for over 10,000 yards in three seasons as a starter, 108 career TDs, 29 INTs, better then 70% career completion percentage, 14-0 as a Senior and beat Zach Gentry head to head. No D1 offers.

He doesn't fit the new offensive scheme but it never hurts to have a guy who is a passer on the team either, even if all you are doing is using him on the scout team.

He's going to a JC in Kansas but I'm telling you, he was better then Zach, heads up.

Very interesting find. His Hudl page is here: hudl.com/athlete/1839291/easton-bruere — 2014 highlights video below.

In the first minute of the video he hits a couple of beautiful passes up the seam in the middle of the field. Nice touch on the ball.

I've watched both of these players their entire HS careers. I actually played for Zach Gentry's Grandfather. I live in Rio Rancho so I'm able to see a lot of each player. I'm really surprised that Bruere didn't get more offers. Heck, he should have gotten offered by UNM at the least. I think it's crazy.

Apparently he has chosen Butler Community College in Kansas while trying to get some D1 looks.

I wonder what kept the offers away? Seems like just about any kid who leads his team to a state title should at least earn some attention. He looks really good on the film, I hope he gets a chance somewhere.

In the State Championship game against Mayfield, Bruere actually played with a broken finger on his throwing finger.

Could be his age. I think he might be turning 20 so maybe that has something to do with it but honestly, you would still think that he would get a look. He hasn't really been a kid who gets in trouble and he has no issues with grades. I think he carries a 3.7 GPA.

You can bet Bill Snyder will take a lot of close looks at this kid when he's at Butler. Wouldn't surprise me if he winds up at one of the Kansas schools.

My feeling is that with Strong those days will be over once the program is full of his recruits.
