I'll tell you all one other thing I was told:

Next year, you will get 5 points for every hundred over your previous years donation. If you gave $2,500 this year and give $5,000 in 2016, you would get 50 for the original $2500 + 125 for the extra $2,500. This seems like a good idea to get you to increase your donations year over year.

It was in effect last year too. You don't have to increase your donation every year to get 5 points per $100. Anything you give (in $100 increments) over the amount that you originally "donated" to get your seats counts as a non-seat-related gift.

Personally I think having to give more to keep your seats, that you have had for years, because someone else wanted them and would pay more, sucks. If I am understanding what has been written here.

That's not happening. As it stands no one can kick you out of your seats as long as you give at least the same amount you donated when your originally acquired your seats.

That is not my understanding of the program. Been an LHF member for over 16 years and started at $152 donation per year plus the price of tickets. I have increased my donation to get better parking and better RRS seats.
This year I asked just my donation minimum was to keep my seats and they confirmed that $152 was the donation level.
So no price increase to keep my existing seats.

The expansion and construction of the Medical school has made a big impact on ground parking available on game day. We used to have Pink lot 79-80 for a $2500 donation level but for the past two years $2500 would only get you Blue (LBJ) parking and this year even more spaces are lost to construction the cost of pink lots 79-80 will even be higher.
Parking will be easier to get under the new Loyalty Points program for someone with a high cumulative balance is my understanding.
In the last few years the LHF has been able to tell us what donation level it takes to get a pink lot. Will see what they say on Monday.

Thanks for the clarification(s). I know not everyone likes the NEZ seats anyway but I think mine is the best of the lot - that is not in the 'club' level.

I've been LHF for 30 years and my number is just over 7000. Seems like there would be more than 18,000 members but I assume most, like me , have more than 1 ticket in their package.

It's really a lot less than that. Like someone said above, the number is being inflated by non-donating members. Here is from last years packet:

I think they will actually lose members this year, as I know four long time donors dropping donations and tickets. I know it's a small sample, but if over half of the people I know (who are members) are leaving, it doesn't bode well for general sentiment.

Our tailgate has one 15 year LF member with four season tickets not renewing LF or season tickets. It will be interesting to see if the youngsters that have been clamoring for a chance at the old fogey's seats jump in and buy up those seats or if there is a drop in season ticket sales and LF members. My guess is that there will be both a LF and season ticket loss. When the value of a ticket to a Texas football game falls to a point that it is almost impossible to sell and hard to give away for free like last year, people are going to drop out.

Yup. I had two extra tickets for North Texas and while it wasn't a great opponent, it was an opening game. I got offered $15 each in front of Scholz, but didn't take it. We headed over to the Champions Club and there was a guy buying tickets outside of the north endzone. I ended up selling him the extra two tickets for $5 each. They were section 3, row 12. I don't usually sell my tickets, so I was shocked by the lack of demand and prices.

The numbers in loyalty points ranking must include season ticket holders that aren't LHF members

One thought on the loyalty points regarding past season ticket holders is that the point total is the same regardless of number of season tickets purchased. I buy four season tickets for 28 years, the guy sitting next to me buys two season tickets for 28 years and we both get 28 points. I would rather have seen points awarded for each season ticket purchased. In 28 years I bought 112 season tickets, the guy next to me bought 56 season tickets in 28 years. A fan that bought six season tickets for 28 years(168 season tickets) should get more points than I did.

They're placing more priority on giving without the reward of a concrete benefit while treating season ticket purchasers as equals.

I will say that my wife and I had decided to drop the contribution and tickets if Mack had returned as the coach. Even though 2014 produced a 6-6 season and a blowout bowl loss, I'm totally on board with Coach Strong and his philosophy. Once he gets things in place, it should be a fun ride!

Would OC Watson and Watson's offense be considered a couple of the things Strong has gotten in place for a fun ride?
More like 40 miles of bad road. At the end of one year of coaching, Spring practice, August practice, 12 game season and at least three weeks to prepare resulted in 59 yards of offense against the last place team of the SEC west.

I know that every school who has changed their donation policies have been sued.....this is going to be interesting......

As long as I can pay my annual donation and keep my seats, I am good. Parking, I can work around that....

Being a member of the Texas Exes used to be a factor in priority seating. Doesn't appear to be anymore

I was surprise there are "only" 18,000 LHF members. I thought I saw somewhere, when Powers was under the gun last year, that there were 400,000 members in the Exes. Is that number correct?
