Obviously we pay more attention to our own team and, therefore, feel the pain of every injured player. But it just seems like we are continually riddled with program-altering injuries. Does anyone know if we statistically deal with more compared to other programs? Not looking for an excuse. Just curious...

I don't have comparison stats, but my impression is that U.T. doesn't have an unusually high rate over time, though it really does seem extra severe the last 3-4 seasons. Knees are a problem everywhere all the time. Oklahoma had devastating injuries a season or two ago. Tennessee lost their all star center a few weeks ago. Duke had a terrible time last year. We did seem to have especially bad luck over the last few seasons, starting in Goestenkoer's final season. A lot of unusual stuff. Tiffany Moore, a highly rated guard, basically never played because of severe allergy problems (something I've never seen anywhere else). Another highly rated guard, Cassie Peebles, had meniscus problems in her knee. Concussions caused one guard to drop out. We lost a high rated center to foot injuries and hypertension. Brady red shirted her freshman year because of neck problems requiring surgery. On the other hand some other schools seem to have been really lucky. Maybe I'm forgetting, but Baylor doesn't seem to have many injuries to starters over the last few seasons....In the end, though, measured over time, I bet it all evens out.
