    experience
All but one player coming back next season
    Experience
    Great recruiting class next year
Ariel and Brooke played like she really belonged
Hattis was a suprise, she needs to focus on bb full time
Hopefully this lights a fire under their butts to show how and what has to be done to compete with national champions

I like Hattis, too. She's looked good every time she got a few minutes this year.

Hattis does and should put volleyball first. Her presence as a middle blocker is greater than that as a center.

Also she has a shot at a national championship under Jerritt Elliott.

This years team definitely took a step forward getting to the Sweet 16, if injuries hadnt happened who knows what might have been possible this year. I really like where Aston has this team headed.:hookem:

Not sure where Hattis stands scholarship wise. I think basketball held her scholarship her freshman year, and this past season. I'm guessing her focus will be with whichever team holds her scholarship for her senior year.

Making the sweet 16 was a great affirmation of how far the team has come. Today's game against UConn showed the team how far they have to go. I hope both experiences help keep the team motivation high in the coming off season.

I think NCAA rules, not Sara's preference of teams to focus on, determine who the scholarship counts for.

Ariel had a really good game overall. She did not look nervous whatsoever! This team definitely has things to work on but definitely a step further than last year shows they are gradually getting there.

According to Sarah, she is only going to play basketball at Texas.

Is this a recent decision? When it was announced officially that she would be playing basketball this Spring, it was also said that she'd be returning to the volleyball team in the Fall:

The thing is, not counting Sara, both the volleyball and basketball squads are at their maximum scholarships allowed if you include the incoming signed freshmen. So, there would need to be some attrition for the numbers to work.

She doesn't play on the vb team and that is unlikely to change with the strong freshmen class coming in July along with the returning players.

Correct. Basketball takes scholarship priority over volleyball. This has been good for the volleyball program and allowed Elliott to bring in additional talent to the team.

According to a story in the Statesman last week, one of the injured volleyball players it likely to be placed on a medical scholarship. So that frees up one scholarship.

I think generally speaking more popular sports automatically take precedence, probably mostly to prevent getting extra football scholarships by having them count towards other stuff instead, e.g. putting Marquise Goodwin on a track scholarship.

Looks like Sara will be joining the basketball team full time, good for her.

From the AAS: Longhorns look ahead after taking step forward this season

Bulk of team returns after reaching Sweet 16 of NCAA women’s tournament.

I like hearing this as I expect Imani to step into a leadership role her senior year:
