Why do walkers need to sustain, can they die again? As they get older it seems like most of their body parts start falling off, so how can they sustain by eating anything?

I do think like anyone they would prefer fresh meat.

It's like vampires, the rules seem different for how they can survive or be killed. Like in some stories, a very old vampire is immune to crosses. What happens if a vampire doesn't feed, he dies again supposedly? I don't think I ever saw a movie where a vampire actually died from not feeding, maybe there is.

Werewolves seem pretty consistent in story with the full moon and death by silver.

It's like all these creatures, they are based somewhat in a real story and then grew into something you have to suspend reality to understand.

The zombies I guess started with the voodoo practice in Haiti with concoctions that slowed down a person's heart beat so much they were pronounced dead. Then some people returned to normal and before they actually died they were able to get out of their grave. People saw one of these so called zombies supposedly return "from the dead" and a whole new genre was born.

    The Link

I think that was the subject of the movie, "The Serpent And The Rainbow.

Are the walkers registered to vote? If so, which way do they lean, historically?

Well, they are functionally brainless so I would guess they are registered with the _________ party.

    West Maulers, have at it.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 5

Ahhhh yes it's finally back for the final 8 episodes of this season. The tension hasn't let up since the hiatus but I'm OK with how this episode went down. This clan is going to need to do some recruiting because they're losing numbers and that's not good. [IMG]

So will they recruit by the star system or are they looking for good kids that fit the family atmosphere?

I think they need some really good five star walker killers that also show leadership if Rick gets bitten.

Can these recruits redshirt till they are ready? Can thry grayshirt an up and coming recruit till they kill a specified number of walkers?

Does jaykaris know about this kind of recruiting and be hired as a consultant? Would he get a new show called "The Recruiting Dead?"

I have thoroughly enjoyed both episodes so far in this back half! 5-9 was heartbreaking to me. A lot of people had begun to dislike Tyrese because of his weaknesses, but I never did. It was sad to see him go.

It seems that big time televisions shows don't mine killing off popular characters, look at "Game of Thrones." The writers just step up and and bring in new characters and keep the show story line interesting.

I think there is a bovine walker on your head trying to eat your brains. Which makes me think about when zombies were called zombies they could talk in some movies and only ate human brains. Walkers will eat everything but the bones it seems. It sure is hard to know your zombie/walker MO these days.

I think that the only person who is truly safe is Carl, with Rick coming in a close second. Eventually, Rick will die, but I think that is a long time coming. In the comics they're focusing more on Carl as he's becoming the person he's going to be in this new world. I feel like the ending will have Rick dying, and Carl taking his place.

I'm not sure about Judith though. I'm thinking the TV powers that be may be too chicken to kill her off. She's long since been dead in the comics, and I don't know how they would do her death now. Perhaps with Carol, but in the same way that Lori and Judith died in the comics.

There are some things that should be coming up in the TV show that happened in the comics that are just depressing. I'm anxious to see how they portray that on screen.

Last night's episode was amazing! Probably one of the best I've seen from this show. I'd put it up there in my top 3 episodes. It was great to see Michonne putting Rick in check. He needs that counter balance, and someone questioning his decisions from time to time. I liked that nobody else really questioned Michonne.

Glenn is one of my favorite characters, and so I was pleased with his scenes. Sort of taking the place Daryl had been in as Rick's right hand man.

Carol is baking cookies, gathering guns, and telling Rick to kill people. She's a bad little lady!

    So, your thoughts?

    [spoiler alert]

I'm so happy Morgan is back although I suspect he and Rick will be butting heads next season. It appears life has come full circle with Morgan the calm, cool and collected one who values human life and Rick now the one bent on protecting his own at all costs.

What the hell was Glenn thinking letting that guy live?

I'm also excited about Morgan. I feel like he and Rick have this back and forth thing going on where they keep setting each other straight. I think Morgan will just bring Rick back to where he needs to be, I don't see them butting heads.

And as for Glenn... he's never been a murderer. Why would he start now? I admire him for how much self-control he has. Can you imagine how that would have looked (with Rick already in trouble) for Glenn to come back all bloody and bruised and yet ANOTHER member of the ASZ missing and/or dead?

I'm getting tired of Carol's one liners. And also can we talk about when Jessie asked Rick if he would do this for anyone, and he said no? WTF? That seems weird to me! You want to kill my husband because you like me, but if another woman was being abused you wouldn't do that for her?

I'm not so sure the Morgan and Rick always will be the yin/yang for each other. Glenn has killed to protect him and his woman. This is a similar situation. Finally, I couldn't agree more on Carol. Her evilness is getting tiring. Ummm...why would Rick protect Jessie but not someone else? Is that too hard to understand? A man has needs. ;)

It's not hard to understand at all. I just think it makes him look bad.

Also, who has Glenn killed? I can't remember anyone?

My bad...Glenn has a kill count of 11 and all were walkers. It's Maggie that has killed her fair share of humans. I guess it was in character for him but I don't think anyone would have faulted him for killing that dude.

Then you just enter the text you want to hide in between the two brackets as below. Post your reply and it will show up as a spoiler.
