Here it is: Dear xxxxxx, First, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your continued support of Texas Athletics and particularly our men’s basketball team by corresponding directly to you. Over the weekend we made the decision to make a change in the leadership of our men's basketball program. These types of decisions are never pleasant, but I felt it was necessary to ensure that our men’s basketball team and our student-athletes can have the greatest chance to succeed. Secondly, as I said in our announcement Sunday, the University owes Rick Barnes a great deal of gratitude and respect for all he’s done to put Texas on the basketball map. This decision was not easy because of the heights that Coach Barnes took our program and the way that he did it – with integrity, respect and focus on developing the all-around student-athlete. We thank Rick for his many years of service to Texas and wish him continued success in the future. Third, we are committed to ensuring our men’s basketball team competes at an elite level, challenging for the Big 12 title every year and making deeper runs in the NCAA Tournament. We also are committed to creating an unmatched home game atmosphere in the Frank Erwin Center. We have begun our search for a new basketball coach, which we expect to complete in a thoughtful yet expeditious manner. You can be assured the successful candidate will be someone who will represent the University with the utmost in competence and integrity and someone who has a history of winning and building a winning culture that ultimately leads to championship performance on a consistent basis. We want a bright leader who can recruit and develop young men to the utmost of their abilities both on and off the court. Lastly, we appreciate your continued support and look forward to many exciting years of Longhorns basketball. Thank you, and Hook ‘em,
Unmatched home game atmosphere Students in the upper deck Flame throwers on the court Clowns on unicycles? Somehow, we need to raise the cost more.
Clowns on unicycles? How did I miss this? Was it one of the 2 games I missed. I don't see how students were in the upper deck when they maybe filled the lower deck student sections maybe at most 3-4 times all year. (I do agree that the student section needs improvement, but they need to show up more often than not.)
----------- Apparently not, but this is it: Steve.Patterson@athletics.utexas.edu Email him and tell him how popular he is among donors, fans, faculty, the Athletic Council, City of Austin politicians and the owner of this website: www.FireStevePatterson.com
Well, I wasn't talking about how brain dead his policies have been, but September 12 will certainly point out how many decades-long season ticketholders decided to give up their seats, given Steve's lying about his 31% increase plus $200 for parking . . . . 6% increase, my ***.
