http://www.texassports.com/news/2015/3/30/tickets_0330155953.aspx really early, wonder what the rush is? makes me wonder how much more tickets will be or if there will be a big jump in the expected LHF contribution?
I guess they want to get us while we are still excited? If that is the case, imagine how much better this would have been to get before the UConn game?
my guess is they want the $$ early to use. Don't pay by the deadline, risk losing your seats. At some point, I will be staying home and watching on the LHN, instead.
I know I stayed home from a few games to watch on LHN. And, they wonder why attendance is so low? Covering every home game on LHN might not be a great idea.
My issue is that I am on a budget and the foundation payments and seat tickets have to be fitted in. Normally, April is not the best month for that for obvious reasons. July-Sept worked much better.
I agree about July-September. Hitting us up now just feels overwhelming. Give me time to breathe, please.
Checked the renewal price. Even with the discount, based I guess on contributions, the price has doubled from last year. Good thing they have a payment plan although that may not help if the prices continue to go up in the future.
Yes, we are renewing on the last day. A rep called and spoke to my partner so she asked. Why the rush? The rep said they had people asking about buying tickets. If current ticket holders renew sooner, it is easier for the staff to know what is available and where for new ticket holders. Plausible? I am glad to hear there is interest in buying tickets anyway.
Renewed last night but boy is it a big bill for the next couple of months to Texas on this and the football payment plan. Don't like them so close together. Also loosing parking for foundation members in football and basketball is a bunch of bull. That was my main reason for donating. Raise prices, take away parking now it cost and early deadline really made me contemplate not going back.
Bought mine on Monday. Cut waaay back on my LHF donation. It was still quite a bit more than last season. I'm taking this year to year from now on instead of thinking it as an automatic thing like I had in the past.
I could understand a price increase if there was a big demand for tickets, but with averaging perhaps 3-4000 per game, I don't see the demand. I'm surprise my volleyball tickets didn't go up a bunch; Gregory is usually close to a sellout. Plus there, parking is still part of my Foundation contribution, so no extra charge. I wonder what basketball will cost if/when we lose the Erwin Center and the games goes elsewhere.
It does seem strange the lack of demand has actually resulted in steep price hikes. The average FEC attendance last season was 3384, and that was with the team going 15-2 at home. No change at all from the prior season, and surprisingly, 500 less per game than showed up the year before, when the team suffered its' worst season in history. So winning definitely hasn't translated into increased attendance, perhaps due to the impact of the LHN. It does appear as if the team's most faithful are being penalized, or asked to make up for the lack of interest from others.
