Everything written in the aborted Game 1 last night still holds true of course today. One other aspect now is that a a doubleheader will further tax a depleted Texas pitching staff. Still don't know if Hollingsworth can give you any innings this weekend. So really need something from the bats, but they face one of the best pitching staffs in the country in TCU, with an excellent closer.

Texas has to win the series as said last night, or you can say goodbye to any possible at large bid, in a regional.

Parker French will start in game one and Ty Culbreth in game two. This removes Culbreth from the bullpen, so really need quality starts from both starters.

The rain washed away the television coverage of the first game. So the TCU web coverage is the only option at
www.gofrogs.com. The audio is texas.leanplayer.com. The second game is on Fox Sports Southwest, scheduled for 4 pm.

    Lineups are on the way.

Preston Morrison, will go ahead and get his usual Saturday start, for TCU. The Friday starter Alexander, will most likely pitch the second game today.

Morrison has been a much better pitcher, with his 8-1 record and era of 1.81. He is a big right hander.

It's warm and windy today in Fort Worth, after last night's storms. The wind is blowing briskly out to left and will help fly balls, hit in that direction.

Ben Johnson steps in to bat right handed, leading off for Texas, as the game and the series begins.
A come backer to the hill goes 1-3 and out one.

Shaw bats lefty, with one down.
He K's swinging on a low breaking ball, two away.

Hinojosa bats, from the right side, with two outs.
A ground ball toward short, the third baseman tries to cut it off, but it goes off his glove. The E-5 put a man on.

Barrera bats righty, with one on and two outs.
A ground ball goes through the hole, on the left side, for a single and two aboard.

Cantu bats righty, with two Horns on base and two down.
An early chance for a big run, but a clutch hit is required.
Another grounder back to Morrison and another 1-3 will strand two and retire the side.

Texas has a threat, but nothing more and TCU comes to bat.

Senior right hander, Parker French is on the mound for Texas today.

The center fielder for TCU is Cody Jones, leading off batting left handed.
A ground ball to short goes 6-3 and one down.

Jeremie Fagnan, plays first base and bats also left handed, with one away.
A ground ball on the right side, goes under Barrera's glove and into right, for the first hit, for the Frogs.

Another lefty hitter is the DH, Connor Wanhanen, with one on and one down.
A perfect double play ball back to French, he turns and throws wide and into center field, for an error.

Evan Skoug, the catcher, bats lefty, with two on and one away.
He is hit by a pitch to load the base.

Dane Steinhagen, the left fielder, is the first right handed hitter.
He bats with the bases loaded and one down.
A 2-1 count brings Skip from the dugout for a quick visit.
He goes back and play resumes.
A lined single to left scores two and has runners at first and second.

    TCU leads 2-0.

Nolan Brown, the right fielder, bats lefty, with two on and one out.
He lines a ball to Johnson in lefty, for two down.

The second baseman, Garrett Crain, bats left handed, as two are on base and two outs.
A full count will send the runners and a ground ball to second goes 4-3, to retire the side.

A botched double play ball by French, costs him two big runs, in a game you can't afford to have errors like these.

TCU leads 2-0, after an inning.

A grounder gets through on the right side and once more, the bases are loaded with Frogs.

Wanhanen bats lefty, with two on.
Maybe the error on the double play, has French ruffled, but he is not his usual self.
A ground ball goes to second and the 4-6-3 double play are two much needed outs.

Skoug, bats lefty, with a runner at third and two outs.
Another grounder to second will end the inning.

    TCU leads 5-2.

Wanhanen, the DH, bats lefty, with a man at second and one away.
He walks on four pitches, to put two on.

French battles on as the Frog fifty begins.

A fly ball to center is deep enough for the SF, as two are down.

    TCU leads 6-2.

French is done after a ton of pitches. He never settled down, after his key error, on a double play ball, that gift wrapped two runs for TCU, in the first.

The new Horn pitcher is lefty, Travis Duke.

Fagnan leads off, batting left handed.
He drills a liner, that is right at Gurwitz in center, for an out.

A shot off Duke and he knocks it down, recovers and the 1-3, is two down.

Skoug bats lefty, with two outs.
A called strike three, on a curve, retires the side in order, for the first time today.

TCU leads 6-2, after six in the books.

He heads for the dugout and has his hand taped, for some reason.
He then takes a curve, for a called strike three, that retires the side.

Morrison will keep working in the eighth, for the Frogs.
    He's saving their pen.

Barrera will lead off the frame, for Texas, batting righty.
If Texas is to get back into this game, they need to start now.
A four pitch walk is a good start.

Cantu bats righty, with one on.
A fly ball to right is out one.

Marlow bats lefty, with one out and one away.

Pitching coach out and Morrison is out, as he has gone over the 100 pitch mark.

    Pitching change.

Travis Evans will come in for TCU, he's a lefty.

Marlow bats lefty, against him, with one down and one on.
He walks to put two on.

Gurwitz bats righty, with two on and one away.

The head coach is out and he makes another change.

Trey Teakell, comes in for TCU, and is a righty hander.

Gurwitz, will bat against him righty, with two on base and one down.
He swings at a pitch in the dirt, the K, makes it two outs.

Boswell has a good day going today and is as good a candidate, as any Horn, for a clutch two out hit.
Realistically you would think the Horns, need something here, to get back in this one.

He walks, to load the bases on free passes.

Baker, batting righty, suddenly becomes the tying run, with the bases loaded and two gone.
A full count and everybody goes now, a gapper would empty the bases.
Ball four and four walks produce a run.

    TCU leads 6-3.

Coach out again and he wants the closer.

    Pitching change.

Riley Ferrell, is the TCU closer, and has been lights out, this season.

Johnson, the top of the order, is your best hitter all season, with the bases loaded and two down.
Here's your game, you would think and maybe the season, for Texas.
He isn't close on two very high pitches and the catcher goes out to talk to him.
Another full count and again, they all go.
A Baltimore chop goes high to short, their is no play and the infield hit plates another run.

    TCU leads 6-4.

Shaw bats lefty and now a single could tie the game, as the bases remain loaded.
He K's on three pitches, the third on a called strike three.

Texas gets two, but you hoped for more, that was your big chance. TCU leads 6-4, to the bottom of eight.

He K's swinging, for one down.

Keaton Jones bats righty, in the nine slot, from the right side.
He bunts, but Johnson has it and rifles a throw to first and it's two gone.

Cody Jones will bat lefty, in the lead off slot, with two outs.
His fly ball to right, is run down on a charge by Shaw, to retire the side in order.

Texas has one last shot, in the ninth, to do something about a 6-4 TCU lead.
