Ferrell is out and tries to get the save, as the ninth starts.

Hinojosa leads off, batting righty, without a knock today.
A liner to right is a single, for a lead runner.

Barrera with good power and the wind blowing out to left, bats righty, as the tying run.
A wild pitch sends C.J. to second.
A passed ball sends him to third.
The count is full and a very high pitch is ball four, to put two on.
Wildness by TCU has put Texas right back in this game.

Stell runs for Barrera, at first, as the tying run.

Cantu bats righty, with two on.
A rally killing ground ball is a 6-4-3 double play, as the run scores.
That really take the wind out of the UT sails.

    TCU leads 6-5.

Marlow is the last hope for Texas, batting lefty, with two outs.
He K's swinging on a high fast ball and TCU holds on.

TCU wins the first game 6-5. Texas had a real chance to at least tie things and just didn't get it done. TCU relievers, who are usually reliable, couldn't find the strike zone, but Texas, just couldn't produce the big hit, to get over the hump.

The botched double play by French, back in the first, haunts you also. The Horns have to win the two remaining games now, to have much of any chance for an at large regional bid. That's a lot to ask against TCU, in Fort Worth.

Game two is on Fox Sports Southwest at 4 pm.
