The only thing keeping the first round of the NBA playoffs remotely interesting. They either need to realign, or go to a more NFL like system where only 12 teams make it instead of 16.
Ive said have the first round at 3 games, second round at 5 games, third round 7 games and finals at 7 games. The 12 team idea would work as well. Either way, the playoffs are too long and the 7 game first round mostly (maybe not always) seems superfluous.
The Spurs vs Clippers play game 5 tonight. Whoever wins will have a big advantage but the series will by no means be over. I wouldn't be surprised if this comes down to a 7th game.
The Eastern Coference is a joke. Those games really blow. The Blazers shouldnt have been the 4 seed just by winning a mediocre division. Get rid of the conferences. There is no point in having divisions either. The regular season is just there for getting the seedings right. Just have top 16, period.
After last nights game I feel like I was shot through a cannon. Too many game deciding plays at the end. Glad the old ticker held up. I have been a spurs fan since attending their first game. That team could not crack the current bench. Anyway just like an exciting horns game (fan since 50's) my muscles get quite a workout to say nothing about the nerves. Maybe I should get some Xanax for Thursday's game. The road to another championship pretty tough this year with no home court but I will root until the last shot.
Last night was the best night in the NBA that I can remember. Three Texas teams all playing. Second favorite San Antonio won. Home town Houston ELIMINATED Dallas. What a good night of basketball! Now, let's get an I-10 series. Go Spurs (this week at least).
I don't know what to think about the end of the game there. The Spurs played worse than the Clippers, so it's not like they deserved to win, but those uncalled travels and the moving screen all in the final 2 or 3 minutes were killer. Might have lost anyway, and again didn't really played well, but is it too much to ask that the really blatant stuff get called? I mean lots of moving screens are borderline, but walking multiple steps from almost the 3-point line over to the elbow while screening? Falling on the floor and rolling completely over? Stepping with both feet while holding the ball - twice!?
