“It was great. The atmosphere and talking with the coaches.”

    LB DeMarco Boyd
“I loved it like always. We’re making progress but we’re not where we need to be. After that 2015 class gets in there then we are going to start rolling.”

“The depth is short. I could tell that certain positions were short and they plugged guys into certain spots.” [Citation]

    QB Shane Buechele
”I loved being there for the spring game. I always have a good time down in Austin. I really enjoyed watching the new offense, and I think it has the potential to get guys in space and make big plays.”

”I love Coach Strong and the rest of the staff. I didn’t get to talk too much with them because I didn’t want to bother them before the game but I haven’t been able to find one bad thing about the coaching staff.”

”The vibe at the game was exciting. You can tell the recruits love being down in Austin and can't wait to be down there.” [Citation]

    TE Jack Stoll
”I got to sit in on the tight end meetings. I really like the looks of the new offense. The tight end is in most of the time and they find a way to always use a tight end as much as possible.”

”I thought the coaches were great. I really like coach Traylor and his coaching style. He is someone I could see myself playing for. I also thought that Coach Strong was great. He was very enthusiastic and is someone who cares about this players.”

”All the recruits seemed to be excited. It seemed like everyone was excited about the new era of Texas football that Coach Strong has started to build. I know that under coach Strong the program will be a championship contender pretty soon.” [Citation]

These comments don't square with the "Strong can't recruit" rumors from a year ago. Folks, you have to look at the progress in just one year.

Plus, the offense has been changed for the better and the cleansing process is over.

So, miles ahead vs one year ago. Hopefully it shows on the field this year.

I hope so too but I’m also prepared to be patient for another year or two and see what Charlie can do. The whole program needed an overhaul and that could take some time.

Say what you will....the play on the field was very familiar to what we saw last year, bobbled snaps, dropped passes, inept running game, .....this team did not look any different than last years team. Granted it was the spring game but I am not raising my expectations after that performance. Then again, my expectations are always high.....
