Taylor or Turner can do what they think best for him. People can disagree with that decision and comment on this forum why, as long as they don't break the guidelines, for the forum. I bet Taylor doesn't care about them either. Nothing said on any forum can prevent them, from doing what they want to do. If they can go make big bucks, then go do that and enjoy the benefits. I doubt they care a lot about things said on any forum. These are young men now and should be able to handle it.

This why Dion and the rest of us wanted to keep this forum alive, to discuss UT sports and other topics of interest.

You don't think that there are players that go to a college basketball or football program, just to use it for a springboard to the pro's and a paycheck, because they have to? That could care less about that college or the basketball or football program.

Life isn't fair, I learned that a long time ago and selfish agendas can cut both ways.

There you go again with the selfish agendas if anyone disagrees with you. You didn't understand about Taylor and Speith and now you don't understand the difference between Taylor and Turner.

Good information here where the NCAA, NBA and college coaches are headed on the subject of players declaring early for the draft. Taylor would have benefited from this system.

By now Taylor has received his evaluation on his draft potential in the NBA draft. Taylor is working, attending classed and was at tonight's athletic's function while Turner is working out in Nevada. That may be a good indication he is staying for his junior year.

We know the players who are good enough to go to the nba right out of high school have to use college basketball as a spring board. And most, just like Myles Turner make no secrets about doing so. When Myles announced that he was turning pro, he called himself a UT alum and was criticized by those people who wanted him to stay. But when Jordan Speith won the masters those same people were quick to claim him as a UT alum even though he stayed for about as long as Myles did. If that's not hypocrisy at the highest level then I don't know what is.

Again, we know why those people do that. Because they want the basketball team to do well, so they can brag about it. Which is, yes, a selfish agenda. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if those people were just honest about why they want the players to stay. Just like Myles and other players make no secret about why they are going to college. I talked about how i was one of those people with a selfish agenda when Daniel Gibson turned pro, i also forgot to mention when PJ Tucker turned pro. If you are offended by the words selfish agendas then you must know it's true. If it doesn't describe you, then it shouldn't bother you. I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me, you're entitled to your opinion. I'm just giving you my opinion.

Long nose pliers. You can get a pair at any hardware store for not much cash. They're great for pulling butt burrs. It doesn't matter how they got there or how deep they're in, it'll do the job and you'll feel better for it.

I guess the allure of all that D League training wasn't that strong.

Taylor announced tonight he is staying at Texas for his junior season. Reports tonight that a couple of VCU players including their star senior who tore his acl late in the season had reached out to Taylor and advised him to stay for a season with Shaka.

Let's see how much he improves under Shaka's guidance.

If the new system clicks, we could be in for a pleasant surprise of a season.

I hope Shaka's style and approach to the game translate well to UT. I don’t know why it wouldn’t but sometimes there are just different situations that are not easy to replicate.

A positive is Shaka saying he will do some adjusting based on the type of players he has.

    This.

Barnes never tailored a team to the skill sets of the individuals. He recruited guys based on what role they could play within his system. And if that system included an all-everything PG, then we were fine.

Just goes to show that "sources" are always right ... if you just have a year or so to wait.

That's a good plan if he's not going to hire an agent. That gives him the option to still come back if it doesn't go well.

Pretty much every underclassman does the whole "not be hiring an agent" bit now... even some of the sure-fire lottery picks. Taylor will end up going and he'll probably be the only Longhorn taken in the draft. Ridley and Felix will get Summer League looks, but probably only as contingency plans.

I think Ibeh will get drafted in the 2nd round solely for his size and build. NBA draft boards have him around #48-50 overall.

Unnecessary bad move on Taylor's part. He should sue the agent that sweet talked him into hiring an agent.
