If you want I can compile a lot of stuff and send so as to put you on a solid path to venture from. Playlists, basically. I will hit up some old set lists of mine and that may help.

This is high on the snek playlist. He and Linda Evans loved them some Yanni, but snek won out in the end.

Yanni is a talented musician for his genre and has many fans. I respect his talent but to me it sounds a little like

But that's okay. It's just not my thing. It does not mean it sucks. (much)

    Cretin.

snek - I recognized Tracey Thorn and her voice from EBTG - very nice - smooth and hypnotic. Had not heard of Massive Attack but I like that cut and will explore some of their other work. Mad Professor was new to me, it was funky and fun. Soul Cough was good - I liked it. Dub Narcotic was OK. A lot of people make fun of or don't care for Yanni, but I like some of his work. The Ramones rock!

Thing is, I like and appreciate a lot of different kinds of music - some a little more than others. There are times I want to listen to certain kinds of music and not others depending on time of day, what is going on, mood, etc.

Zamfir is another person who gets a lot of **** from people but he is hellishly talented at his craft. Same as Yanni. The man has skills and has made gobs and gobs of money doing it while traveling the world. Ain't gonna hate.

No, this a flute. I used to be quite accomplished on a slide whistle, I could play that, as good as he did.

I don't know what it is but I cannot get into Buffett. Dylan either but I may be close to coming around on Dylan. I know Buffett is very talented and has a large fan base for good reason. I am the odd man out on it. Don't think it/he sucks but just cannot for the life of me like his stuff. Maybe repressed memory of a trauma?

Time to chill the hell out.

I suggest headphones or good speakers and stereo sound for this next one in particular. If you have ever, um, taken, um, psychedelics of some form...this is for you and your imagination especially.

    This is very Eno'esque, imho.

    keep those headphones on.

I was wanting to like the Tranquility base but didn't do it for me. Mostly, electronica is too repetitive to where I lose interest waiting for something to happen ...

Then you hooked me with Howie B ... (listening with Shure SE315 earphones)

BTW - I hadn't liked Dylan for forever. My opinion was he was a great songwriter but needed to find a singer for the songs - such as Hendrix on Watchtower. Over the last year or so, I've been warming on him tho.

Not to change gears too much, but the thread is what are you listening to now.

I am sipping an adult beverage listening to this clip before leave to pick up some Chinese takey-outey. I know snek will not be able to resist commenting about this.

Pat Metheny is so allsome or awesome if you prefer.

and another cut from an older album:

    Dio, you may like this.

I don't know who Belen Lavallen is but I do know this masterpiece of chillout music from the geniuses that are The Orb. However, I figured the fellas here would enjoy this even if just for the video. The track is top too. Dayum. I need to watch whatever tv show this is. I would consider getting cable for the first time in five years.

Abbey Inn, Copper Dollar, Backroom and the Skillet. I miss those places. I need an Abbey Burger and to shoot some skeet on that wall game there. Too bad, they are all long gone.

Use to go there all the time, with UT baseball players back then, after games.

Lived at The Racquet Club, off Riverside, for a year.
