Good post. Nice to put some perspective on player development here at draft time and look at what Charlie has done before. I fully expect him to turn this program into a machine.
I think it also says something about player evaluation. Strong's Louisville classes weren't highly thought of by Rivals and Scout, but his players are now sought-after NFL players. Notice A&M had two players drafted this year. Mike Sherman's kids have cycled through. Sherman didn't get credit on Signing Day, but on draft day 3-4 years later, there was all sorts of validation on the players he recruited.
Maybe it speaks to the good/great athlete who is also a (+) citizen as well? Less risk especially if virtually all else is equal in terms of talent?
TEN (10) draft picks this year. Second only to FSU with 11. Fourteen (14) in the last two years. Horns end up with five (5) this year. After three (3) years in the secsecsec, the NeverWillBees end up with two (2) picks.
