For the fourth time Texas takes on Texas State. It's the last home game of the season, unless Texas not only reaches, but hosts a Super Regional. I'm not holding my breath for that. I don't look good in all purple. The game can neither hurt or help either team. They both will have to win their respective conference tourneys, to reach a regional. The most noteworthy thing about the game is that Texas State Head Coach and former Horn, Ty Harrington, may be back in uniform and in the dugout, for the game. That would be a most welcome sight for both Bobcats and Longhorns. Josh Sawyer will start on the mound for Texas. It's also the last Longhorn baseball game on LHN, unless the above described miracle occurs. The audio is texas.leanplayer.com. Lineups on the way:

There's more information here, if you are a fan of Dierks Bentley's song "Sideways." It was posted this way on Twitter by @TxStateBaseball. I don't know if it can be rotated on Hornfans or not. Calling all Techs like Dion and BevoBeef. Maybe it can be rotated on Twitter, just don't know.
It could be a sign of the apocalypse too. Are you enjoying this episode of "Home Plate?" Look at that quail.
Augie just said on that Home Plate show, "our fans are tailgaters." I guess he didn't get the Patterson memo on that. We are "parking garagers now."
Even the game tracker is confused or just doesn't care about this game. www.sidearmstats.com By the way, Ben Johnson isn't starting or playing tonight. He is not eligible, because he was ejected in Sunday's game against Tech, so suspended for this one. I wonder if this game was not played, if the suspension would carry, to the first game of the Baylor series? I think it would, by rule.
So do we get more of Augie eating or another musical interlude at the Cactus Cafe? It's more of Augie eating.
Just announced over the PA no earlier than 7:45 and lightning has struck twice at DKR in the last hour.
My audience grows thinner than Twiggy on a diet. We now lose Dion to "The Voice." He has to go watch that kid in the derby hat, with all the hair, that he likes. He is getting in need of a trim though. I have a picture of that kid somewhere. I found it.
Not Dion, the kid on the show, he likes, named Sawyer. We had a good scam going, if the game hadn't been cancelled. We were going to say we played Tech, with Texas State's players. www.sidearmstats.com
The canceled game gave Augie more time to prepare the team for Baylor and get something extra to eat on LHN.
Now that the mid-week game is no longer, Texas is assured of either a winning or losing regular season record. If Texas doesn't win the Baylor series it will be their first losing season since 1998. 1998 was Augie's second season in Austin and only losing campaign here. On wiki, his head coaching records per season go as far back as 1975. 1998 was the only losing season in Augie's last 40 years. If his 2nd losing season in 40 years, and missing the playoffs 3 of the last 4 wouldn't indicate his time is up, not sure what would.
