OSU eliminates OU 5-1, and maybe the final game for OU, for the season.

It's Texas vs OSU in the championship game, have to get it in and win, to advance to the regional.
Rain is falling as the game ends, more looks to be on the way, it's going to be touch and go.
Since there is no more baseball today, they can now get the tarp down, till tomorrow.

Assuming we play, it appears OSU has lots of arms and we have Parker and the full Pen. Who goes for the Pokes?

You would think the B12 will try to squeeze this game in if at all possible as it may give the B12 an additional team in the NCAA tourney.

Game has to be played tomorrow, so the regionals can be scheduled and announced on Monday morning. As the higher seed, if the game is not played, OSU is named the champion.

A champion must be named, by 11 pm. tomorrow.

Not only should they try to squeeze it in -- once they have 5 innings in, they should decide whether to wait out a rain delay based on who is winning. Texas up = call it. OSU up = wait it out.

    Then again, maybe I'm biased.

They need to start playing at 9 am if it's not raining.

They should have played four games yesterday! This **** could have been totally avoided. I'm sick of TV and guys like patterson determining when and what time games are played!

It's a good thing, that there were only two games today. Two or even one more, would have really backed things up, with all the rain, Tulsa is getting, since the last game ended.

A start time of 5 pm appears to be the best bet according to current rain prediction.

So it's a double elimination tournament in which neither team has even a single loss yet, but they only play one game and that's it? That's an odd format.

There is basically a week, between the end of the regular season and the start of regional play. Unless you play single elimination, which no major conference I know of does, this is about the only format you can use. Double elimination in division play only, to get the two championship game participants.

Time and the complete depletion of pitching staffs, just before regional play has to be considered. It's the same format the College World Series used, till they went to the best of three, championship format. The luxury of time is available in Omaha, so you can space things out.

The CWS used the straight double elimination format, for years, with eight teams. It went over the course of two weeks and sometimes more, if there was bad weather.
