We won't be a four seed, we will be a three seed, it could be College Station, but there is some talk about being sent to the Dallas Baptist Regional. Kendall Rogers thinks we go to Dallas.
Think they'll probably send us in as a 3 to set up the drama if we are both able to get through to the winner's bracket.
While RPI is not the only factor, there are only 13 teams (of the automatic bids) with a lower RPI than UT. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Horns are a 4 seed.
It would surprise me greatly. The NCAA is not going to make a #1 seed A&M or DBU face a #4 Texas, in a first game. I can't see Texas going anywhere else. They aren't going to TCU, not going to put two Big 12 teams, in that one.
Houston stands a decent chance to host a regional too, although TX Southern will probably be the 4 seed there if they do.
I never thought I would see the day, that the State of Texas got four Regionals, more than anybody, and one of them wasn't in Austin. Times have changed.
Bet we're sent to Dallas Baptist for their regional. That would assure great attendance there (even though it's a small venue overall). At least I hope that's the case. Naw....times haven't changed. It's just 1 year in a 100, and Dallas Baptist deserves the regional site, as do TCU, the aggy, and Houston.
Being sent to Dallas, would make it like being sent to the Rice Region, we would have as many fans or more, than the host team. I think the DBU stadium only holds like 2,000 people, I thought about the attendance thing, but the stadium is small. We could assure sellouts, for our games. The NCAA is sometimes entertained by things, like sending Texas to College Station, but we got that match up, last year, so maybe it isn't a big thing, for them again. They don't need an attendance boost there either. Houston is big enough to support itself too, so Dallas does make sense in a lot of ways. Would be nice to start hosting a regional again though, been four years.
While I like the sentiment, they just aren't worth the effort it would take. It would be a total waste of good urine.
