    It's time to find out where Texas is sent. I'm going with a #3 seed at Dallas, I think the NCAA won't send us to College Station, since we had Aggy last year at Rice.

    My second choices are a #3 seed at Houston or College Station.

    I do not know that we will win, but this is actually winnable. Is it just me, or are we on the weaker side of the bracket? #AugieMiracles

    Also, more worried about Oregon State than DBU for some reason.

    Texas Tech and OU fail to make the 64 team field.

    Texas, A&M and TCU got decent regionals. Meanwhile, Fullerton and Houston got very tough regionals. These regionals feel very unbalanced to me, but we will see how it plays out.

    Happy where the horns ended up.

    Horner Ballpark at DBU is small, tickets might be a little tight, for a potential DBU-Texas match up.

    Texas should have as many or more fans, as the Patriots, it's like a Rice regional, in that regard.

    Did we bump OU?

    Oregon State is a good team, they were on the cusp of hosting a regional.
    DBU has been the #1-#2 in RPI all season, finally finished #2 behind Miami.

    Texas winning the Tournament, certainly hurt all potential at large teams, that includes OU.

    Oklahoma State with a very tough draw, with St. John's, Oral Roberts, and Arkansas.

    Got a shot with that Regional. Nice trip to Miami if we sneak through next weekend. Whole lot better than a dead board today and paperclip u discussing their chances with Oregon State. #augiemiracles

    What happens if Texas wins out in Dallas, and Miami does not? Where is the Super played?
    Is that a coin toss to determine the site when both 1-seeds lose the regional?

    Just what happened last year - whoever has the bigger hosting bid to the NCAA.

    Looks like the dimensions of Horner Field are:
    LF = 330
    CF = 388
    RF = 330
    Huge expanse behind Home Plate and the seats with a low brick wall.
    Since the facility sits atop a hill (facing north/northeast), winds could be a factor at the facility.
    Very little room in the deep alleys of left and right field----maybe 3-5 feet?

    The facility was designed by the same architectural firm who designed the Texas Rangers facility in Arlington.
    Field turf is a Tiff Bermuda.

    The view to the east is of Mountain Creek Lake. So take binoculars to hunt for bodies floating around the lake and into the picturesque area of SE Grand Prairie----lol----

    Although seating is very limited (about 2,000), the ballpark is new with some nice amenities for a small facility. And the turf and infield are thought to be excellent by people who've played on it.

    Since the school/facility sits away from congested areas of Dallas, it's easy-in, easy-out----and there's ample parking available.

    TCU received a national seed, and will host the Super in Ft. Worth if they win their regional. If TCU doesn't win, only then will aggy will have the opportunity to outbid their opponent (assuming they win their own regional).

    What he meant Viper was that Aggy thought they, would be awarded a national top eight seed, so then if they won their regional, they would automatically gotten a Super, on their field.

    What he said above, I am going back and forth from here. I've got steaks and ribs on the grill, and now some corn on the cob, so my posting is periodical at best, and with greasy fingers sometimes.

    If a top 8 seed (ie TCU or Miami) wins their regional, they host a super.

    If someone beats a top 8, but the paired regional host (ie TAMU or DBU) wins their regional, the paired host will host the super IFF they submitted regional AND super bids.

    If both #1 seeds lose in a regional/super pairing, the nod is usually given to the higher seed IFF both regional winners submitted regional AND super bids.

    Last year, both Houston and Texas won as #2 seeds. While there seems to be some disputed testimony, I was told that UH had submitted a regional bid but NOT a super bid. The NCAA supposedly allowed them to submit a last minute super bid, but still chose Texas to host. If we had been the #3 seed, we would probably have gone to Houston.

    As the #3 seed this year, we have to win the regional and Miami has to lose their regional. Also, you have to wonder if East Carolina submitted a super bid by the deadline (which is already passed). Even if ECU wins, but did not submit a super bid, if we win the regional we should host. It's not just the size of the bid but also your regional seed that plays a part in super hosting for non-#1 regional seeds.

    SO, what I'm saying is that it's possible.

    I'm okay with playing at Miami. Traveling to a giant retirement community can only mean good things for #AugieMagic.

    Miami is a "hitter's-dream" ballpark. Given our batting woes, that might be a great place for us to go. But FIRST, we have to win against this excellent competition we've been put with.
