The UT programs for the most part have been doing very well. I’m just so eager to see football back in the title hunt. I believe Charlie will do it.
The golf team recovered from a rocky start and are now in sixth place. The top eight teams will be in a match play format, to determine the championship, over the next two days.
Still in fourth through 16-18, but closing the gap on third-place Vandy. For those who want to check in, here's a link to the leaderboard.
They will finish in fourth place, unless Georgia falters down the stretch. All other have completed their rounds.
Don't they still have Match Play thereafter? Today just determines the individual winner and not the team, yes?
Georgia faltered -- we are tied for third entering match play! I'm not sure how the tie is broken for match play -- who do we go against next?
Depends on how they break the ties, to determine if Texas is a #3 or #4 seed. As a #3 seed we would play the #6 seed South Florida. As a #4 seed we would face #5 seed Southern Cal.
3-0-2 looks pretty lopsided, but the detailed scorecards seem to tell a different picture. Down the stretch, USC had a solid hold on two matches: Gojuangco (USC) dominating Kickok (UT) -- went on to win 4&2 Hoey (USC) a steady 2UP on Ghim (UT), who couldn't seem to break through With these two losses, UT needed to win all three of the other matches, which were all neck and neck: Hall (UT) 1UP over Crocker (USC) thorugh 17 Scheffler (UT) and Sugimoto (USC) AS through 17 Hossler (UT) and Texeira (SC) AS through 17 Hall lost the final hole (the 9th) and a tiebreaker to give USC the win, so the 4th and 5th matches were picked up AS. If Hall had held on to win, the final two matches would've been very exciting. Oh well, great season. Hook 'Em!
