Wow wasn't it 3-4 years ago that she first committed? Or maybe longer ago than that...it's been a while so hard to recall the exact timeframe. Better late than never...I'm glad she's finally going to become a Longhorn! Welcome Khaleann!

Awesome news!! wonder if her twin, Audrey-Ann, will be joining her as well at some point. They have played together pretty much their entire lives.

Overseas, they came to one of Coach G's first summer camps. I don't recall their committing but it likely would have be to Coach G. Glad at least one of the twins made it to Austin.

Great news, and yes, they were committed to ut when coach G was here.

Great news! She played well when healthy for VU. Great size and a good 3 point shooter!

Khaleann only played in 3 games last season so I assume she will be eligible to play four years at Texas if she chooses to. Is it possible that Texas could try to appeal to allow her to play this coming season and use last year as a medical red shirt season? I doubt it, but just a thought.

I'm betting that is exactly what they will do, @05Longhorn. And, even if it doesn't work for this upcoming season, they could try it again later for a 5th year...kind of like what happened with Kristen Nash a few years ago.

Saw this in a Statesman article:
"It is expected that Caron-Goudreau will seek a medical-hardship ruling from the NCAA that would allow her to play for four seasons at UT."

Same article mentioned that her sister was transferring to a juco.

I love this quote, both about Coach Aston and what Texas is about and what Khaleann expects from herself:

With her height and ability to shoot from distance, would Gigi be a fair comparison?

I wondered about the sister. I guess this way both will be on a scholarship in 2015-2016 and then her sister joins in 2016-2017 and both can start playing. I remember there were twins from Canada who committed to Coach G and it sorta fizzled out when she quit. I just didn't know it was these two!

I doubt we'll have room for Audrey-Ann in 2016. As it stands now we have just two scholarships remaining for the 2016 class, with a lot of top players in the mix for those spots. And with the new NCAA regulations, I don't think we'll see much change with scholarship availability.

Interesting development. I was kind of hoping that last 'ship would be used for a front court player who would be eligible immediately, but looks like the options didn't pan out.

Did not expect the twins to go in separate directions. Wonder how they decided which one would go where. This article talks about their recruiting rankings and stats at Vanderbilt:

    http://amestrib.com/blog/anthony-zi...ot-3-caron-goudreau-twins-make-isu-visit.html

Audrey-Ann started 16 games last season as a freshman for the Commodores, averaging 4.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game. Khaleann played only three games due to injury, averaging 7.0 points and 2.0 rebounds. Audrey-Ann was the No. 52 recruit in the 2014 class, according to ProspectsNation.com, and Khaleann came in at 138. The Quebec natives both played for the Canadian B national team and went to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

If Audrey were to transfer in for 2016, that would mean only 3 'ships available for high school seniors. And, we already have 2 verbals.

Khaleann looked really good in those few games before her injury. Two of the three opponents she faced were Tennessee and A&M and she reached double figures in both contests...pretty impressive since those were her first games as a collegiate player. Not sure what to make of the 2016 class...so many top players out there and so few places left on our roster.

I fully expect Audrey-Ann to come in as well. Like @BabHorn mentioned, the girls have played together their entire lives, and it just makes sense, her going JUCO and all.

So assuming Audrey-Ann joins in 2016, we have just one more scholarship to give, which means room for only one of that fairly large group of top recruits still considering the Horns in that class (Holmes, Ramirez, Johnson, Aiyeotan, Mack etc). Perhaps that's okay, not sure how others feel, but I'd been thinking we'd end up with 2-3 of those still out there.

I don't know about the type of injury, but it looks like she was held out for the Fall, played those few contests vs. the Vols and Ags in early January, and was then gone again. So she may have been hurt, been cleared to play, and then suffered a re-injury (or deemed not fully healed). I am happy about the signing; obviously the twins have been followed by former and current staffs, and both were impressed enough to extend an offer. Both were also ranked fairly high as recruits (Hoopgurlz ranked them jointly as the 21st best forwards in the 2014 class, with #20 falling just inside the top 100). And as mentioned Khaleann played very well against a couple of strong opponents, and Audrey-Ann had a good frosh campaign. She was 2nd in blocks and 3rd in rebounding on the team, with game highs in those categories in 15 and 4 games respectively. It looks like Khaleann is much more of a 3 pt threat; she made 4 of 13 in just three contests, while Audrey-Ann made 3 of 16 (.188) for the full season (27 games). But I was curious if most feel their addition to the squad means we're close to being done with our 2016 class; that would seem to be the case with just one more scholarship available.

I wonder how the coin flip on who gets to UT first and who waits it out a year in juco went?

Do you think Audrey-Ann's situation might have been grades?

It's more likely that Khaleann has the chance to play right away (appeal re only playing in 3 games last season) vs Audrey-Ann definitely having to sit out a year (transfer). Not sure how that appeal would work since Khaleann was not at UT last season. Also, if she played after the semester break, I wonder if a RS year is allowed. I can't remember the rule for sure but I though playing after the break would negate any chance of a RS year. Playing at a CC would allow Audrey-Ann to continue to develop as a player with game experience vs being a practice player. Plus, I don't think the numbers would work otherwise, if both came in at the same time.

As mentioned, the discussion of who would do what should have been a very interesting situation. Grades I would think would not have played a role on who went where. Audrey-Ann is still looking at pre-med (with goal of going to vet school) but those plans could have changed. Khaleann had already decided to change majors from her previously declared major of Chemistry. Really looks like both sisters have post BB goals that will take them in different directions vocationally.

Perhaps Audrey-Ann will be attending a JUCO in the state of Texas. There's also a chance she attends a JUCO/CC and doesn't play hoops this season in order to save a year of eligibility (?), but that might not help her development.

No idea how the appeal process works in requesting to by bypass the transfer sit-out requirement, and receive immediate eligibility. But, I guess it's worth a shot.

If I understand the rules correctly, Khaleann would have four years of eligibility remaining, should she choose to use all of them. For a medical redshirt a player must have appeared only during first-half of the season, and in no more than 30% of scheduled contests. Khaleann played in games 13-15 of Vandy's 31-game season - post season contests count towards total - so technically the first-half of the season (even though all three occurred just after the holiday break).

As some have guessed, looks like Audrey-Ann will be coming next year - here's a tweet from Khaleann:

She's from Quebec so I think we should give her a pass on the 'Texas University' for now.

hey, with a year to watch Khaleann, maybe we will be able to tell them apart when Audrey-Ann joins the team in 2016. We have had sisters on the team before (the Nash sisters & the Ethridge sisters) but I don't recall ever having twins at Texas.

Another pair of sisters also included an Audrey...Annette and Audrey Smith.
