French got screwed by the home plate umpire, should have been a called third strike prior to the RBI that made the score 3-1. Bummer.

This game headed south in a hurry, now 4-1 on timely 2 out hitting by OSU.
Maybe we can rally, but it will be off a very good starter if we do. Doesn't seem real likely.

So now Moore, pitches with the lead, for OSU, in the fifth.

Boswell bats lefty, leading off, for Texas.
He bats in the nine hole and a really weak swing, on the slow outside change, is a K, one down.

Johnson bats righty, back to the top of the the Horn order, one out.
He golfs a low pitch that drops, for a single.
Maybe time for the running game, to manufacture a run.

Baker bats righty, with one on and one out.
A fly ball to left and the heavy stopped two potential homers.

I was knocked out by lightning, what can I say, the storms just keep coming. Then my keyboard, wouldn't work, had to change some things in devices. I am back

I will try to just, go from here, I guess.

Texas down 4-1 in the seventh, with one and one out.

Boswell bats lefty and flairs a hit to center.
    That puts two aboard.

Johnson bats righty, with two on and one down.
A fly ball to left and the SF, scores a run.

    OSU leads 4-2.

Baker bats righty, with one on and two down.
A liner up the middle, is a single, to put two on.

Coach out and he leaves Moore in.

Hinojosa bats righty, with two on and two outs.
A ground toward the hole, on the right side, is knocked down by the first baseman and the play goes 3-1, to retire the side. Texas believes that the pitcher didn't touch the bag, but's an argument, they won't win.

Texas gets one and OSU leads 4-2, as they stretch at Horner Ballpark.

Well, we hit three singles and scored a run, maybe there's still a chance.
    French is gone.
Great home-run robbing catch by Gerwitz!

Travis Duke comes in to pitch the seventh for Texas, as French is done, and maybe he was just not, totally ready today.

Hamilton leads off, for OSU, batting righty.
He sends a long drive to left center and Gurwitz, at the wall, leaps and has it, above the fence, a great play, for one out.

Hendrix bats lefty, with an out.
He walks, to put a runner on.

A 1-0 count brings out Skip and he wants a righty.

    Pitching change.

Freshman right hander, Connor Mayes, comes in to pitch, for Texas.

He faces righty hander Harrison, with a 1-0 count.
As one is on and one out recorded.
A ground ball to short and the 6-4-3 double play, will end the innning.

Nice job by Mayes, as thunder rumbles still in northeast Texas, OSU leads 4-2, after seven.

Moore keeps going, in the Texas eighth.

    Barrera leads off, batting righty.
A fast ball that looked high, is called one and the backwards K, is one out.

Shaw bats lefty, with one away.
A fly ball goes to left and it's two gone.

Gurwitz bats righty, with two outs.
A ground ball, on the right side, is flagged by the second baseman, but his throw is late, it's an infield hit.

Marlow, bats lefty, with one on and two gone.
He is the tying run, but with the wind blowing in and heavy air, it would take a blast, to get it out.
Well there is that blast, he has that kind of power, and he got a fast ball on the inner half, he loves those and that ties the game. A long homer to right!

    Game tied 4-4.

Coach out and Moore is done.

    Pitching change, what a game

    It's 4-4 but who's counting?
I may have spoken too soon, as pitcher Moore ran out of gas and gave up the gopher ball to tie the game! Still, game is tied with time running out, and UT is the visitor in this one.

The new Beaver pitcher is Scotland Church, a right hander.

He faces lefty hitting Clemens, with two outs.
A chop to third and the 5-3, ends the frame.

Texas ties it on the homer by Marlow, it's in the bullpen's hands now tied 4-4, bottom of the eighth.

This storm has me in a frenzy, it's kind of hairy here, and lights flickering.

Kirby Bellow, comes in to pitch the eighth, for Texas.

A pinch hitter Gillette leads off, for OSU, batting righty.
He walks, for a lead runner.

A pinch hitter Lund, bats righty, with one on.

Skip is out a change is made.

Hang in there NBH7 - if you have to bow out your HF brothers (and any sisters) will jump in and modestly try to fill in for the baseball game thread legend and myth that is you.

It's hairy in Dallas when the reliever throws nothing but balls, and just got jerked by Skip. Damn. It will be a miracle if we keep OSU from scoring here in the bottom of the 8th.

Freshman righty, Jake McKenzie, comes in, for Texas

He faces Lund, with one on.
He bunts and the sac goes 1-3, for one down, the runner moves up.

Nobach bats righty, with one on and one out.
He lines one to the gap, in right center, it gives OSU the lead.

    OSU leads 5-4.

Ice will be intentionally walked, to put two on and set up, the double play.

Gretler bats righty, with one on and one out.
A full count and a walk will load them up.

The top of the order is Donahue, batting lefty, with the bases loaded, and one out.
The Beavers try to blow it open here, McKenzie tries to keep the Horns close.
He K's looking on a big curve, a very big second out.

Hamilton bats righty, with the bases loaded and now two gone.
Another K, looking and that will end the inning.

OSU answers again, as good teams do and lead 5-4, to the ninth.

McKenzie pitching stops the bleeding. Horns have 3 outs left to get at least a run to tie it.

This was supposed to be a pitching duel!

Mitch Hickey, a right hander enters the game for the Beavers, in the ninth.
A new right fielder is Jansen.

Boswell leads off batting lefty, for the Horns.
A full count and a high pitch, puts the tying run on.

Johnson bats righty, with one on.
Boswell is almost picked off first, by the catcher, that would have been a killer.
Johnson can't get the bunt down.
He then sends a rocket to center and the center fielder misjudged it and then make a leaping catch, for the first out.
    Big play there.

Baker bats righty, with one on and one down.
A come backer and the 1-6-3 double play will end the game.

OSU wins 5-4, and sends Texas, to the loser's bracket.

So close, but so far sometimes, it seems, for the Horns, back in a bit.

Relief pitching walks let us down, tough way to lose. Very even game, though.

We can still win the regional. OSU only has two good starting pitchers. We win the next game, our chances are still good.

Both aces for each team started well and then ran out of gas. Sometimes when you get ready to go and there is a delay, it takes something out of a starting pitcher. Both have pitched a ton of innings and had long stints in their last start. French even had a relief appearance, that he probably shouldn't have.

The difference was the the fourth, when Texas had a chance for a big inning and settled for only one run. Then OSU comes right back and takes the lead. Texas battles back to tie it, on a homer by Marlow, but again OSU answers, to take the lead right back.

OSU is a very good team and did what they had to do, to win, when they had to do it. Nothing to do, but move on and try to win out, it's all you can do.:hookem:

The difference was our legacy player and his ******* strikeout with the bases juiced and the follow up with a blown DP ball at first!
