Hope to post the various stories about the U16 team as they come out although I will be out of commission for a few days later this week. I am hoping that they do a story on each player as I want see what they say about Sedona and Alecia Sutton's AAU teammate Lauryn Miller.

Watched the game and, while I know they really didn't have much time to install an offense, what exactly did the coaches try and implement? USA has all kinds of height advantages but they certainly aren't trying to capitalize. Alexis Morris and Jade Williams impressed. When they actually gave Sedona the ball in or near the paint, she finished with soft hook shots, she also had a couple of nice blocks/rebounds. Lauryn Miller seemed a step slow for most of the game but showed a couple of flashes late. USA wins 80-44.

    USA 85 Mexico 44

USA is now 3-0, the only undefeated team in their group (Group A). Canada is 3-0 in Group B.

Sedona topped the squad in blocks (2), rebs (14) and efficiency (19).

She played 16 minutes. Her shooting wasn’t as good in this game as she hit only 3-7 from the field. One of those was an outstanding catch and finish, though. She also had two assists. Really nice overall game. Sedona ran the floor well. She also reacted well to the ball coming off the rim and was able to move to get the rebound instead of just waiting for the ball to get to her. The only thing she had trouble with was FTs. Her shot seemed okay and there was a nice arc on her shot, it was just too long or too short.

Alexis Morris is an outstanding penetrator and finisher.

    Game stats vs Mexico.

USA loses to Brazil 63-72. I wonder if Sedona was hurt. I tuned in late in the first quarter, and never saw her on the floor. Stat sheets show she played 2+ minutes.

72-63, USA loses. They made a run in the second half with 7 minutes to go, but too many TOs and defensive lapses at the end to pull it out.

Dang, kinda took this for granted, figuring a tough game but one that the USA would win by double digits. USA is playing tomorrow at 6pm for Bronze.

very short rotation in this game, with four players only getting in for between 5 minutes and a mere 16 seconds. Sedona only played for 2.55 minutes. USA leaned heavily on Morris (30 minutes, 5-17 FGs), Espinosa-Hunter (36 minutes, 3-10 FGs) and Littleton (18 & 1/2 minutes, 2-11 FGs) who combined for 10 of 38 of the USA's 22-71.

This bronze medal game between USA and Mexico is crazy. Up and down the court, jacking up shots. USA up 32-14 with 5 minutes to go in the 2nd Qtr., but both teams seem unorganized.

And of course right after I post that, USA gets it together. Up 39-14 with 3 mins. to go in the 2nd quarter.

USA defense really working harder. Halftime score is USA 52-14. And, I'm done. I think they have this bronze.

Per the stats, Sedona started and has played 19 minutes with six left in the game. Lauren Miller and V. Myers have not played. Sedona is not shooting well (1-6) but has 11 rebounds and four assists.

Thought that was a bad call on Sedona on that offensive rebound.

USA dominated 81-24. No player played more than 22 min & 56 seconds with all five starters logging at least 20 minutes. Miller and Myers did not play. The other five played at least 17 minutes. Much better use of the bench. Jade Williams had a good game, getting a double double (11 pts and 12 rebs). She tied for both the scoring and rebounding highs on the team. Excellent effort off the bench.
