The Longhorns have played games since 1893 and have amassed 884 wins, the second-most all-time in college football history. With all of that antiquity, there have been plenty of incredible records set by the Longhorns, but there are a few that stand out above the others. Here are the five most unbreakable records in Texas Longhorns football history.

Ricky Williams’ two straight games with 300 rushing yards

Ricky Williams did a lot of near superhuman things during his four years on the Forty Acres, but his feat of two straight games with 300 rushing yards during the 1998 season is peerless.

    Colt McCoy’s 76.7 completion percentage in 2008

McCoy completed 332-of-433 passes as a junior in 2008 on the way to a second place finish in the Heisman voting. His passing campaign is the most accurate by a quarterback in NCAA history with a minimum of 150 attempts... As a bonus feat, McCoy’s 45 career victories under center will also be pretty difficult to reach.

    Britt Hager’s 195 tackles in 1988

Defensive records haven’t been kept nearly as long as their offensive counterparts, but that doesn’t make Britt Hager’s 1988 season any less impressive. Hager complied 195 total tackles and 17.7 tackles per game as a senior in 1988.

    Kiki DeAyala’s 22.5 sacks in 1982

Michael Strahan set the NFL’s single-season sack record in 2001 with 22.5 sacks over 16 games; Kiki DeAyala reached that number for the Longhorns in 11 games. Only four players in NCAA history have had more sacks in a single season than DeAyala did for Texas in 1982.

    Earl Campbell’s 11 straight 100-yard rushing games in 1977

There was no tougher player in Texas Longhorns history than Earl Campbell, and his streak of 100-yard rushing games during the 1977 season is a testament to that. Campbell dashed for 100 yards or more in every game of a perfect regular season for the Longhorns... Since Campbell’s feat, no player has had a 100-yard game streak longer than seven

#2 I could see broken with how the rules keep favoring qbs more and more, especially if it's somebody who doesn't have as long a career and only starts a few games. I could see #5 broken as well, we just haven't had that type of back in a while. Somebody getting three straight 300+ yard rushing games, yeah, that'll probably never happen.

The way the college game is now, 150 attempts is a joke! That's about three games worth at some places.

How many consecutive games did VY have being totally badass and jiggy? That has to be a record.

What's even more impressive about Colt's season completion %...he led the nation again the following year with 70.6%. He holds the single-season record at 76.7%, and is 2nd in career completion % at 70.33. Colt Brennan of Hawaii is #1 at 70.39%.

But it's worth mentioning that Brennan amassed his over 3 years, while Colt played an additional year. If Brennan would've played as a Freshman too, I'd assume the career record would belong to McCoy.

At least it belongs to someone named Colt...

I get that this is individual records, but I think the 30 consecutive wins is a pipe dream in this day, especially with the CFP format in the postseason. We'd need to probably finish one season with 5-7 straight wins including a lower bowl, go undefeated and win the championship the following year at 14-0 or maybe 15-0, and then start the next season with a bunch of wins in order to make it happen. The alternative would be winning consecutive undefeated national championship runs, and that seems highly unlikely now.

Other team ones that seem unbreakable:

    1991 Pass Efficiency Defense: 77.4
Yes, we held opponents to a 77.4 pass rating. Even our best individual games today rarely approach that. The game has changed, and the chances of us holding 12+ opponents to under 1500 yards for the season and a 77 rating is impossible.

    1970 - Rushing attempts against 1 team: 90
We'd be lucky to get 90 total plays off, even in the Colt days.

    1939 - Fewest penalty yards in a season: 279
We can easily hit that in 3 games.

I would think Colt's record for career wins would pretty much stand forever - how many QBs do you think we'll have who will start four years and average more than 10 wins per season?

Not counting Colt, that group would be composed of slightly less than 1 member.

Pretty sure the 2 PAT returns in a single game by that CB in the late 90s (Holmes?) will stand forever. I know at one point it was a record for a single game, season and career.

PAT was blocked and he returned it for 2 points
Then next TD opposing team went for 2 and he pic-sixed (errr pic-two'd) it.

Wish I could remember his name

Russell Erxleben's 67 yard field goal although he shares that with Steve Little of Arky.

Tony Holmes, yes. In 1998 against Iowa State, which I think was one of those two consecutive games Ricky Williams hit 300 rushing yards in as well. Or was it part of a pair of games in which he rushed for a combined 11 TDs? Or both?

I think 11 straight 100 yard rushing games could be in jeopardy. Players could play in 13 or 14 games in a season or 65-70 games in a career? With specialty 3rd down or receiving backs etc....

I agree the man in that <-------- direction will never have that record broken.
