Holy Crap. This organization knows how to run an NBA Franchise.

David Robinson > Tim Duncan > LaMarcus Aldridge

Adding Aldridge to a team with Duncan, Parker, Leonord, Green, etc probably makes them a favorite for the NBA West next season. Manu is now on the clock.

Let's see who is now expendable. Do they keep Mills or Joseph? Keep them both or let them go?

Dang, that's a nice little acquisition for the Spurs. Hopefully, Joseph can stick around a year to enjoy playing with a fellow Horn. Welcome Home, LaMarcus!

Do they need to get rid of anyone else?

They've already traded away Tiago Splitter (Hawks), Aaron Baynes (the Big Banger, to the Pistons), and Marco Bellinelli (Kings), I think that total has made enough room for Aldrich.

It amazing he ever developed into a good player after having to suffer 2 years under Rick Barnes. (sarcasm)

As a longtime Trailblazer fan, sad to see-it was a great run the past two years, the team was fun to watch and one of the best starting fives in the NBA. Wes's achilles tear doomed them and the ability to keep LA.

Just as sad was the choice of Oden - could have had twin Texas studs. Some analytics at the time showed Durant to be the best choice, (although most GMs would have picked Oden also) oh well.

That said, couldn't go to a better organization. Always will root for him.

I'll echo the sentiment above: Welcome home, LA!

So, here's my question: so now, with Aldridge and West on the team, and Kawai, too, do you think Popovich would get fined next year if he sat out Duncan, Parker and Ginobili in the same game?

Popovich will change with the times. Now he will sit Duncan Parker and Aldridge.

It's funny how many articles I read saying something along the lines of the Spurs would have to get rid of / have retire 3 of the following: Diaw, Green, Splitter, Mills. As it turns out they only got rid of one of them. Wing depth is going to be pretty lacking, but the good news is that's the area they have the most youth so they can afford to play Green / Leonard a lot of minutes if they need to.

The main specific thing about his time here that I remember is getting his *** returned to him after the game on a silver platter by Big Baby Davis & Tyrus Thomas in the NCAA tourney. Probably not fair to him as he did a lot of good while he was here, was a team player and mature attitude, and usually gave his all on defense too, unusual for a young high-scoring star. It did seem a microcosm of his career in the NBA too - lots of stats, but on the big stage shrinks back a bit and settles for only outside shots and fadeaways, no longer willing to go at the rim. But some time with the Spurs may change that. I've never thought of him as a great passer but he's not selfish with his passing so I see no reason he wouldn't fit in with the SA culture and find the open guy when it's there.

Still worried that I can't think of the last team to win the title with their #1 option being a big man whose primary weapon was a midrange jump shot. One could argue 2011 Dallas fits this category but although Dirk had multiple lethal outside shots he spent a lot of his time in that series going into the paint and blowing past guys.
