Coming soon to the 40 Acres. Advanced Camp on June 13 & 14 should have most of the top players in the state that Texas is recruiting. Hoping that both of our 2016 verbals will be there as well as the incoming frosh since players usually help with the camp.

they are here! Advanced camp is this weekend. :coolnana:
Be careful of all the motorcyclists in Austin for the ROT rally. There's a lot of traffic this weekend in the capital city. But that is pretty much the standard nowadays.

    Alecia Sutton will be there.

Anyone know if Texas is going after Sutton's teammate and U16 player Lauryn Miller (Top 20 2017 F)?

Are they AAU teammates? They go to different high schools. Miller does look pretty good, though. I would hope the staff has noticed her and has at least expressed interest. We will be able to watch her online when the games start on June 24.

While they play at rival schools, both play for the Missouri Phenom squad. After asking if anyone had any info, I noticed Coach Aston just recently began following her on Twitter. Between Alecia on the AAU circuit and Sedona on the U16 team with her, hopefully they convince her to take a hard look at Texas.

well, I am not going to be able to attend the evening session but the afternoon session was fantastic! Got a chance for a great chat with Brady; got to meet Tina Thompson & Jordan Hosey and watched both of our 2016 verbals: PG Alecia Sutton and F Jada Underwood. Sutton is going to be awesome. Jada is still wearing a knee brace and I figure will be quicker and faster by the time she gets to campus. She has as they say, a college ready body. Alecia has speed to burn and Jada is still pretty quick with excellent hands.

Got to watch some recruits we mentioned on the various recruiting threads. Happy to see how well the team interacted with the recruits. I think we got a very good chance at some very good recruits in the coming years.

    @BabHorn
Did you see Aborowa today? I've seen Jordan and Lashann on practice tweets and on Longhorn Network but I haven't seen any information on Christina anywhere.

didn't see anyone resembling her but I think she was not coming until the second summer session. I will see about asking the coaches this morning.

Thanks for the info. Can't wait to see how the coaching staff molds a player with her size and athleticism.

    Some names familiar to us:

    Alecia Sutton, 2016 PG—verbal
    Jada Underwood, 2016 F—verbal
    Didi Richards, 2017 G
    Shae Routt, 2018 W
    Deja Kelley, 2020 G
    Lexi Gordon, 2017 F
    Joyner Holmes, 2016 F

    Some others that stood out:

Tatum Veitenheimer, 2018 PG Windthorst High School , Windthorst, TX coached
by Heather (Schreiber) Stark, a familiar name to Texas fans.
    Bre Wickware, 2016 W
    Jennifer Parker, 2017 PF
    Mia Heide, 2017 C
    Alexis Bryant, 2016 P
Lauren Heard, 2017 PG (TX QB Jerrod Heard’s sister)

I am sure I missed a number of others that caught the eyes of our coaches.

Alecia Sutton is going to be a wonderful player. Very heads up player, excellent passer, finished strong around the rim. Tatum Veitenheimer rivaled her in passing and other facets of the games. Lexi Gordon’s energy and rebounding stood out.

The speed of the players really wowed me. It’s fantastic how fast they were running the layup drills. Gordon, Sutton, Richards, Veitenheimer and Wickware were ones that I noticed in that drill.

Found out that Khaléann and Christina will be in for the second summer session. I saw everyone but Empress and Khaléann and Christina at the camp. Got to meet Tina Thompson, a very articulate and gracious lady. Watched her demoing a power step to the basket. She was very clear about the importance of learning it and of how to execute it. The campers were eating it up.

Kinda disappointed in the turnout of Texas fans. Only spotted one other there. Hope everyone that usually shows up is okay.

Back to the players. I was really impressed with our two 2016 recruits. I had read about Veitenheimer in an article before but watching her in person is a totally different thing. She is very good and her speed and quickness were on a par with Sutton, imo. She would be great to have coming in a couple of years after Sutton. Holmes seemed very comfortable with the current Texas players and the staff. On the open court, one can see how athletic and fast she is. Several times she leaped straight up from behind a defender to snag a rebound. She is going to be a tough matchup in the PF/SF position. She is one of several campers that look like they are physically ready for the college game.

I liked what Kelsey spoke about when the current players spoke to the campers. She said that she got a lot of rebounds in high school because she was tall and just had to reach up. In college, she found quickly that she needed to block out to have success on the boards. That’s pretty close to what she said, I think. Acoustics are terrible in a gym. I like having the players learn how to speak to a group. That’s a skill that will help them during and after college.

I don’t know who will join Alecia, Jada and Audrey-Ann in 2016 but it wouldn’t surprise me if it were someone that attending this camp. There were some impressive 2016 players in camp. Not to mention that some we think the staff is looking at were not in camp, so who knows?

Thanks for the info, Babhorn. Not familiar with these 2016 ballers you mentioned: Bre Wickware & Alexis Bryant. Familiar with Brittany Brewer and Joyner Holmes. Perhaps one or two available 2016 'ships/commitments come from that group who attended.

So, no Duncanville players? Specifically Ciera Johnson and Z. Green? Guessing no Natasha Mack or Amber Ramirez?

Glad to see Didi Richards attended; that means she's still considering us despite having decommitted. Glad Lexi Gordon was there, too.

Are Sedona, Charli Collier, and Jade Williams practicing/playing with USA Volleyball already? Forget if Charli made the team. Believe a couple of those 2017 PGs from the Houston and Beaumont area may be part of that group, too.

Moooooo, Sedona and Jada Williams are practicing with the U16 team, beginning today, iirc. Collier was not at camp.

I did forget to mention that Sedona did stop in and had a pickup game Friday night with the team on her way to the U16 team practices. My understanding was that she was pretty impressive.

My daughter will most likely be the starting 5 at for Coach Myers at Cedar Park next year as a junior. CP is generally an undersized squad as she is the tallest in the program at 5'11 1/2". (She'd kill me if I left off the half) Even the 5's shoot a lot of threes at CP, and apparently she was pretty hot, especially Saturday both outside and inside.

They give awards for 3v3, 1on1, Def. MVP, Off. MVP, and Overall MVP, and I guess the coaches get together and vote on it. 9 teams in the division, 80-90 girls.
