Jon Stewart on The Daily Show about summed up how great this is from the viewer standpoint. The Republican race/fiasco will be so great to watch. It could be much like feeding time at Jurassic Park. Now the Dem's need to step up and balance the hilarity for better debates. This is going to be such fun.

He is going to make some people uncomfortable with questions. Debates are going to be interesting. I think the Republican candidates were dreading this. He will call them out, and they need it.

This is going to be so great. I may get cable again just for the election coverage. Nah, I will just get internet clips and snippets.

They need to be called out by legitimate people with reasonable questions about real issues. Not by this lying, arrogant SOB. He just makes things up as he goes along – how does that add to the process?

Why is he illegitimate? He's more successful than all of them combined. The press asks so many legitimate questions, so we should only allow them to question candidates, is that it? If you want to label him as arrogant and a liar, then the status quo has not changed. We could label all the candidates in the same way.

Trump is a mess. Talking about his net worth and holdings and insulting basically everyone from Mexico? Tone deaf.

I don't personally believe Trump is serious about running. Serious about self promoting to get whatever he gets from that, yes. Learn from his past, he is nothing but trouble for the Repubs.

I have wondered about that, Zork. Good point. He's such an egomaniac and he surely loves him some him. But does his delusion and self adoration reach so far and deep as he gets older that he really thinks he has the clout and skills to be President? I don't know which will be more entertaining, him being serious or him just out for attention and a profit grab somehow in the future. Both are tragic, however.

At least the Reps are willing to take hard questions from all sides. Hillary stays in the dark and then briefly pops up for a scripted, pre-qualified Q&A (all 3 or so). The only sources she will speak with come with guarantees of highly friendly fire. Sure some of the Rep field candidates are ridiculous, but Clinton's character is bottom of the barrel of all candidates.

The Trump firebombs concerning our friends from South of the border have me convinced more than ever that he is just a plan to siphon off some of the votes ala Perot in '92. He is doing this for himself and hurting the people who are center and right of center from having a chance to bring sanity back to the country via the next election. That is, the slim chance that any sanity can be salvaged from the disaster course we have been on these past X amount of years.

At least we aren't Greece, yet.

He's a freak show, and he's reinforcing every negative stereotype of the GOP that exists. He's horrible for the Party, and if he pulls a Ross Perot, he will guarantee a Democratic victory no matter who their nominee is. He could even put Bernie Sanders in the White House.

Trump is Kinky Friedman writ large. He has no chance of winning but will get a little time on the bigger screen to flaunt his plumage. He knows some real estate in that managed zoo that is NY and NJ but is mostly just a self publicist of the malign narcissist variety

His capacity for mischief is boundless and the poster who pointed out how he will suck the oxygen away from the more serious candidates is dead on.

One thing about Trump is that he knows bankrupcy really well since he has either managed it in his businesses or personal life over the years or at least managed the creditors to keep him out of it at times. So he is perfect in that respect for our soon to be 20 trillion in debt likely 30 trillion by 2020-ish. Although it might end up being 200 trillion by the time Trump redecorated the White House.

Trump is out for Trump.I don't think he is even really serious about running.
But what he said is the truth as the prison populations and many many victims of illegals can attest to, well the ones still alive anyway.

So, is Trump bad for the Republican party image? His continued rhetoric is pushing Latinos away all the while his polling numbers are moving up.

He's terrible for the GOP. The Party has had a real problem with addressing the immigration issue by attacking the people themselves rather than the economic incentives and lax border security that the root of the illegal immigration problem. Guys like Trump make that problem a lot worse. Large numbers of Latino voters were once illegal immigrants themselves, have family members who were or are illegal immigrants, or have close friends who are illegal immigrants. Demonizing them as a group (especially when you do so falsely or unfairly) is going to (1) make Latino voters not vote GOP and (2) motivate them to turn out for the Democratic nominee.

    Disagree.

Maybe you were being sarcastic, but IMO anyone, anyone "looks" better as a candidate for POTUS than HRC. At a minimum any candidate is more trustworthy than this phony.

Not to me. If HRC is the nominee against Trump, I'll vote for Trump. HRC is a horrible person with no ideas and no soul, which puts her on my political **** list, which means I will generally vote for her most viable opponent, almost no matter who he or she is. I don't like Trump's rhetoric because it's stupid, but I put no stock in what a politician says anyway and basically assume that whatever inflammatory smack talk a Republican spouts is usually said to rally pissed off, old white guys. Democrats use similar, stupid rhetoric rhetoric with their base.

The only scenario that would present a dilemma for me is if the general election contest ends up being HRC v. Rick Perry, who's also on my political **** list. However, that wouldn't make me more likely to vote for HRC. It would just make me more likely to vote Libertarian.

Donald, shut th f*ck up. Just stop talking, Dude.

I had to laugh at this. He puts out a statement "clarifying" his comments but still calls the US Mexico's "dumping ground." Does that really make things better? It's like a white guy getting caught referring to a black guy as the "N-Bomb" and saying, "you all misunderstood and misrepresented my comments. I just meant that he's a dirty spook. Now stop the distortions."

The guy is a walking dumpster fire. I almost wonder if HRC is paying him to run just to keep him out there saying stupid ****.

I am not a fan of Trump at all - he needs to shut up. When you've dug yourself a big hole, you need to stop digging.

Your right Mr. Deez, a serious candidate would not lower himself to heckling, insulting and name calling on Twitter or any other social media.

It just makes me wonder how long he's going to stay in this. Serious candidates just don't engage hecklers on Twitter. It's impossible to look good doing it.

Besides, showing the Make in China label on Trump's line of clothes was brilliant. There is no comeback for that.

Yet through all this Trump is polling at 12% last week according to CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/01/politics/donald-trump-poll-hillary-clinton-jeb-bush/index.html

I don't have time to look at the polling methodology but clearly Trump's brashness is resonating with the far right. According to the CNN poll above his support is coming directly at the expense of Rubio and Walker. One has to wonder how much this is translating into fundraising support. Trump has to be woeful in his organizations ability to fundraise.
