Football Fan Day — Sunday, August 9

Open practice begins at 9:45 AM followed by coach and player autographs at 1:30 PM at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Special 18" × 24" commemorative posters to be used for autographs will be provided to fans (Limit one poster per person). As a reminder, posters featuring student-athlete autographs may not be sold per NCAA rules. No outside items (including footballs, T-shirts, tickets, etc.) may be brought in for autographs. Photos with players and assistant coaches are also not permitted.

All autographs and activities are FREE and on a first-come, first-served basis. Large crowds are expected so please prepare accordingly. Fans may access the Red McCombs Red Zone following the conclusion of the open practice at noon.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

9:45 a.m.-noon: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

• Open practice

1:30-3:30 p.m.: Red McCombs Red Zone (enter Gates 8, 14, 16, or 25 beginning at noon)

• Autographs with Texas Football players and assistant coaches
• Photos with Texas Football head coach Charlie Strong
• Photo opportunities with BEVO XIV, Smokey the Cannon, Texas Cheer and Pom, Hook 'Em, AirHorn and more!

 

What the heck is AirHorn?! Are they bringing back that inflatable guy?

 

I wondered about that too. Probably some “enhancement” to the game day experience.

 

I read somewhere that they are bringing back the inflatable mascot.

 

Beware "inflatable" mascots...

 

"Jet Pack Dude" is giving rides maybe? I sure hope it's not Balloon Bevo...That thing sux.

 

Is anyone going to the practice tomorrow? Going to give us a report?

 

Wish I could go. It would be great to get a report and some photos from the day.

 

I talked with my better half and she said let's go, so I think we may head up there after all. Attached is a map of some of the events near gates 14 and 16 on the north side of the stadium.

If anyone wants to meet up give me a holla.

 

Well, it should only be about a 120 heat index by then. I'm out.

Glad your going Dion, should be fun. Morning practice will still be hot and sticky... seriously, your better half is the envy of the rest of us! She deserves high-fives and a nice dinner somewhere at the least.

Of course I speak for the rest of the great unwashed out here on HF - we will be anxiously awaiting your thread regarding your thoughts, impressions and predictions from the event & fairly vanilla practice you will see.

I happen to be in Austin for the Shania Twain concert so I will be going and toting my camera too.
