I agree with the guy on virtually nothing, but he's doing something that all candidates should be doing. He gave a lengthy interview that focused almost entirely on real policy. To me, that's his appeal and why he has support, even though he's a poor candidate - not a very good speaker, ugly as sin, and doesn't even own a comb. There's no pretense or ******** in the guy. He is what he is, and he's honest about it. Furthermore, he's got the balls to answer policy-oriented questions at length. True, they're softball questions from a liberal commentator, but HRC won't even do that. Of course, if the American voter had any brains, they'd never vote for a candidate who didn't do this several times. Sadly, we don't.

And one area where I do have some agreement with him is that he admits what virtually no other Democrats admit, which is that immigration harms American workers. (Of course that used to be common knowledge especially in organized labor circles until political correctness and Democratic dreams of overhauling the demographics of the United States for political gain took root.)

I think conservatives and "socialists" like Sanders have some common interests that I wish would be explored by the current Legislature. The Venn diagram doesn't overlap much but that area where it does, those who are elected should be actively pursuing now. I agree with you Deez that immigration is one of those issues. The problem is that both Republicans and Democrats are cronies and sellouts. See the dispute between Cruz and McConnell. The Ex-Im Bank should be removed from existence and I think populist types from both parties could have agreed to get rid of it. The problem is that those tied into the crony system, HRC being one of the primary ones, use agencies like the Ex-Im to fund deals that they profit greatly from.

They are sellouts, but the Democrats are making a long term strategic move. The base of the party is basically sick of appealing to middle class white people, so they want to overwhelm those people with new Latino immigrants, whom they presume will vote Democratic. Basically, they want to do nationwide what they've done in California.
