"I think if I ran, I could win." -- Given the pool of candidates so far, I think he may be right.

He made crazy predictions like that the last two times he ran.

All I can say is thank God for term limits.

Four more years of his corrupt administration ignoring the Constitution, bypassing Congress, packing the courts with liberal judges, and enforcing only the laws that BO thinks should be enforced and this country would definitely go into a death spiral.

He will likely issue an executive order against term limits soon.

Some think we're already in that spiral.

In this day and age, I think it would be hard for any president to win a third term. The public sours on its presidents after 8 years. In the last several years few have had enthusiastic support after 8 years. Reagan and Ike may have been able to pull it off, but I doubt that anyone rise would have.

Well let's see; he'd get 95%+ of the black vote, 75% of the Hispanic vote, the gay vote, the "women's rights" vote, the majority of the entitlement folks votes, the college student vote, etc., etc. etc. The "coalition" he used to win election the first two times is still out there and they're not going to vote Republican. I'd hope that he'd get a lot less white, working class votes. I think that segment of the population is tired of being told what an evil historical burden they have on their backs.

The coalition isn't what it used to be. We're not "making history" anymore. (Remember, we're not very deep.) The Iraq War is over (sorta but not really). It's getting harder and harder to blame Bush for the economy with the passage of time. The War on Women narrative was a disaster in 2014 and has likely run its course. Furthermore, with the PP controversies, the pro-aborts are on the defensive. The gay marriage issue is over, so long as you can get Republican presidential candidates to stop talking about it.

No doubt, he'd get 95 percent of the black vote, but I don't think it's foregone conclusion that he'd get 75 percent of the Hispanic vote or do as well with any of the groups you mentioned as he did in the past. Probably even more significantly, none of those groups are as motivated to turn out as they were in 2012 and especially not 2008.

The GOP can win the 2016 election if they present a meaningful agenda and don't act like dicks.

    Mr D
If only but I agree with zork.
It is not that the Dems will do that either.

I know it is. That dick reflex is just too much for a lot of Republicans to suppress.

Will you admit you were wrong when it doesn't happen? Or will you just be on to the next email forward for your news?

The white vote doesn't matter anymore, General.

Oh, so you agree with the BO administration. One of the first acts Eric Holder did was dismiss the case against the black panthers who were running off white voters from the polls in Philly back in '08.

He's pretty cocky for a president that has watched his party lose control of both houses of Congress including a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

Obama got 71% of the Hispanic vote against Romney, who was about as unrelatable as possible to the average Hispanic. Against somebody like jeb or Rubio, I think he would be in the 60% range.

This is why the GOP shouldn't write off the Hispanic vote. Even when they make no attempt to get it and nominate about the whitest candidate in recent memory, they get almost 30 percent. That tells me that Hispanics will at least listen to the GOP (unlike black voters).

I've read some articles that downplay the impact of the Hispanic vote, because they are heavily concentrated in California and Texas, which aren't in play. That is true. A ten-point swing in the Hispanic vote isn't going to make California winnable. However, it could make a difference in states like Colorado, Nevada, Florida, and New Mexico. That's 49 electoral votes - like flipping Pennsylvania and New York.

Furthermore, as cynical as this is, turnout has to be considered as perhaps an even bigger factor. If you alienate Hispanics, not only do you get a smaller percentage of their votes, you motivate them to turn out AGAINST you. Losing Hispancis 40 - 60 with 35 percent turnout hurts a lot less than losing them 30 - 70 with 50 percent turnout.
