Wow, when you can buy lots of 20+ tickets to the RRS, you know sales have taken a hit.

    :rolleyes1:
Group seating to me means the group can seat pretty close together, not necessarily in same row but in proximity to other in your group.
How is it possible that there are seating areas at the Cotton Bowl where they can arrange " group seating"? I thought Texas usually sells out its' allotment every year?
This must mean that every Foundation member who requested ou tix got them and there are still quantities left over.
    wow

I guess this means we can plan on a lot more obnoxious toothless Okies sitting around us at the game. Athletics is offering group sales for home games and the OU game in the last week of July? That doesn't sound good. Maybe hiring additional staff will help.

Yeah, maybe they can cut more expenses like the LHB traveling to other away games and that will allow the AD & the AAD the additional savings to hire telemarketing staff to call and try to sell those tickets at discounted prices to the general public.

Think about the prices and sales if the RRS moves out to Jerry World.

Think about LHF donations not needed to get OU tickets.

Students have always been able, or at least since the late 80's, do group seating.

Know if you have a group of x number of Foundation members they will group you together or as close as possible. Not too difficult to do. Since the expansion of the Cotton Bowl tickets have actually been sold to the general public. I got my tickets last year 2 weeks before the game.

So I was told I was only allowed 4 tickets via priority so if I added 2 more now do you think I would be able to get them

The difference MWA I think is this means Texas did not come close to selling their allotment and to send out a mass email that they can group 20 people in close proximity means they had quite a few
PLUS it means they will allot the 20 group sales their tickets first and those who ordered in 2s 4s etc after they fill the group ales.

Yes. Call your ticket rep. Your additional seats won't be with your priority seats, but you should get them.

If they haven't allotted any tickets yet( and how could they without knowing how many groups will buy ?) he should be able to get all 6 together or at least in row behind or in front.

While I recognize policy changes and perhaps a decline in ticket sales and "past performance is no guarantee of future results", 'priority seating' didn't work for me in previous years as you describe. When I paid for 10 season tix and ordered 10 out tix, I got 4 in a premium location and 6 in the upper end zone. Priority for maximum of 4 doesn't mean you can expect to get all of your order filled with adjacent seats.
Also, I expect group orders will be filled after all priority orders and not be a delaying factor.

    Just
well in previous years they didn't offer " group" seating did they? In previous years demand from foundation member outstripped supply.
Clearly this isn't the case this year or they couldn't be offering group tix sales.
To accommodate these groups ( If they offer proximity seating in anything but the end zone) they would likely have to allocate the groups first, in order to satisfy the proximity offering.
Of course it is also possible that the group seating location are dead in the end zone.

So you expect groups to get priority over donors? That would be as foolish as charging for parking.

I'm thinking I should just wait until I get that email saying hey we have more tickets available and order then because we all know it's coming but they had to sell more this year than last season because I got the email last year in June telling me that I could order more so I'm assuming the one for this year won't come until mid -end of August after we have season tix in hand
