The NLand Surf Park got announced a few months ago, but the clip of the surfer guy fighting off a shark and then going back out again and seeing another shark - got me thinking about a safer alternative. Anyone going to give this to be constructed surf park near Austin a try? How hard is surfing (never done it myself)?

Looks fun. I bet surfing is a lot harder than it seems.

It's def. not easy but it's not crazy hard either. Don't expect to ever ride big massive waves because even some who have surfed a long time just cannot do it. But it's not an impossible dream if that's even what you have. If you have skateboarded, snowboarded or anything that required balance and transfer of weight/equilibrium you will pick it up. Just don't get discouraged at first. It's a process and once you get on, the rest follows. It's a tremendous feeling.

I am not great at it, likely not even good at it any longer since it's been so long but it's something I too wouldn't mind picking up again. I almost relocated to SoCal or South Palm Beach. That would have been in the cards. Instead I chose to stay here in Austin.

Can you hang two, as in fangs, on the surfboard?

How great would it be to have one in your own back yard?
