My hope is that the team improves every week, every game, right up to the Baylor game at Waco.
Then teach them the meaning of respect. (can't find the Caddyshack clip)

Circle those wagons, Art. That's the way to deflect a shitstorm. Circle up and pretend it's not there, and it will just go away. When they start pointing fingers at each other, that's when we'll know it's about to come apart. I'm so sorry it took such a devastating event in a young woman's life to demonstrate what a bunch of a-holes are running BU and BU football. They would be happy to emulate UM in the early 90s, if that's what it took to have that level of football success.

104.9 FM... with Chad Hastings this afternoon.... reports that Muschamp looked in that player and wanted no part of him given what he knew about him.

That should indicate Boise coaches were not holding anything back... enough was out there that Muschamp wanted no part of it.

Petersen has said he "thoroughly" informed Baylor coach Art Briles of the reasons behind Ukwuachu's dismissal at Boise State when the defensive end was transferring to the school in Texas. His statement was in response to Briles saying Petersen had only said Ukwuachu was depressed and needed to be closer to home.

Briles released another statement Friday evening that said he was not informed of any violence towards women while Ukwuachu was at Boise State and only of a "rocky relationship." The school also released transfer documents that show Ukwuachu was cleared to transfer to Baylor and had no eligibility issues at Boise State.

Lets just say that I thoroughly believe Petersen when he says he thoroughly informed Coach Briles. If I was a coach sniffing around a transfer and was informed by the former coach of a "Rocky relationship" I sure as **** would ask follow up questions. "Rocky relationships" do not even hit a coach's radar so my next question would be "What exactly do you mean by that and why is that a concern of yours unless it was something very serious?"
Art Briles's story does not pass the smell test.

I caught a blurb somewhere today that ESPN is in Waco doing and "Outside the Lines" expose on the whole Briles scandal. This story isn't going to get swept under the rug anytime soon considering the recent "Thug U" mentality in the Briles era.

I bet Briles votes Sark coach of the year for deflecting the heat from Baylor.

Consider how Briles went off with some special entitlement for his program after the Final Four were set last season. Made himself stand out real good, get noticed by the media. Not a smart idea in the long run if you might rather have a lower profile. Wonder if the media has forgotten that posture. That kind of lecturing on "deserves."

    http://johncarvalhosports.com/2015/08/25/why-was-the-ukwuachu-indictment-sealed/

Something overlook in my, Texas Monthly's and the media excoriation of Baylor, Briles and the Waco Tribune Herald is that the indictment, issued in June 2014, had been sealed. I didn't know that when I suggesed it worthy of inquiry whether the newspaper was either incompetent, lacked news judgement/objectivity or was protecting what they thought was an innocent perp.

Seems like Texas Monthly, Chip Brown, etc. should have known the indictment was sealed and if they knew let me in on it.

As I see it now, it is reasonably plausible the University and Athletic Department were as unaware as the rest of us that Ukwuachu had been indicted. While the Baylor dean did a crappy job investigating, she did not have the cell tower info the prosecutor had. She could not easily discount the roommate's testimony that he was there and heard nothing. It's worthy of inquiry why the indictment was sealed. I'v e seen that done when releasing it would make it difficult to apprehend the perp. That doesn't seem to be the case here. If it was the prosecutor's decision, the DA should explain why. However even there we have to acknowledge that the DA's investigation and prosecution were dogged and successful.

My point, back about one page ago, was that the student at Boise State did not call the police; I was not referring to the student at Baylor.
Both Boise State and Baylor are attempting to claim a lack of responsibility here.
Boise State says they apprised Baylor, they informed Baylor, blah, blah, blah, but they will not say exactly of what they informed Baylor.
Baylor says they only knew the player was depressed, and could harm himself, blah, blah, blah.
Neither school wants liability from the victim who could claim that either Boise did not properly inform Baylor, or Baylor knew and allowed a predator to roam its campus.
Maybe one of the two institutions would be liable in a big civil lawsuit, but which one?
Florida's Will Muschamp says he was told about the player and refused to recruit him to Florida, by a Boise State employee. But Muschamp's offensive coordinator left Florida for Boise State a year earlier, so it could be that Muschamp was warned by this insider, but Baylor was not. It could be that Boise wanted to wash their hands of this guy and figured that they would pawn him off on a school which had no desire to look into his background since he was such a good player, a school located in Waco, Texas.
Both schools may have covered their asses legally, but they both are smelling like a dead skunk in the middle of the road right about now.

If you're referencing Muschamp's OC at Florida I doubt he was the leak. Brent Pease was fired from Florida so I don't think him and Muschamp would have been on the best of terms and Pease left for Washington to be on Petersen's staff and not Boise.

Well, that was the speculation from today's Austin-American Statesman. But someone at Boise informed Muschamp.

Watch for ticket prices & concessions to go up at McLane Stadium. BU will also be reaching out to the deep pocket donors and ol' Ken Starr will be calling some of the BU cigar chompers to step up and help pay the out court settlement that will likely be well > $1 MM for the victim.

Do you think BU or Briles will learn a lesson from this?

Maybe the appeal is like a double-or-nothing deal where if he's still found guilty after the appeal, they slap him on both wrists.

Although I would hate to see if for the sake of the victim, karma would be the punishment being set aside which would then require a new hearing on punishment. New jury gets it right and puts him in TDCJ for a long enough time that Baylor will be a distant memory in the sports world.

Reason I say I would hate it for the sake of the victim is that a new proceeding requires that she be traumatized yet again...
