F Blue Bell. I hope they go out of business after having the living crap sued out of them for some reason or another. Had they not known what they were doing, what the risks were and that people could get really sick and maybe die I would welcome them back. But a Texan I may be, a sucka I am not. F them. They have done us so hard that hopefully this financial hiatus gives them Blue Balls.
Blue Bell had to recall all products due to a listeria outbreak, the cause of which was never determined, despite lots of testing. They closed for months and had to lay off hundreds or thousands of employees, and almost went bankrupt, but were bailed out by Sid (?) Bass, who saved the company and now owns some substantial share of it. They repaired, replaced, modernized at great expense, produced test batches, and had them tested. Now it has been ruled clean and they are back in business. The listerisa bacterium can cause sickness or even death if the person's health is weak, or has a poor immune system. Three previously hospitalized (for different serious conditions) people died. Many customers stood by the company, and were there to buy the first cartons of ice cream just delivered today. Then there are a few haters like the one above. He won't get any Blue Bell. I would recommend lemons, lots of lemons. I doubt many of our food products would be found germ free if the FDA really went in and thoroughly tested them. It is only when some outbreak occurs that a company has to improve their procedures.
Still waiting to see Blue Bell back in the Arlington stores. Meanwhile, Plan B was buying Braum's, and it is pretty decent.
The current ownership should sell and walk away. they ignored a critical flaw in their pathogen control program and people ended up dead. This is not ok and they should be held accountable, not held in iconic stature. F them.
It does concern me that someone at BB knew about potential problems and continued to operate business as usual. The line workers get laid off for months while the executives at the top with the power to make things right for years retain their positions. Will they make different decisions should problems show up in the future?
Will be interested in finding out if they use soy lecithin as a binding agent. After the recall, I started looking closer at the ingredients in ice creams. This is one I'm now avoiding. So far, limited to Hagen Das as the only one not listing it.
watch yer cornhole, bud! of course you are alive. there are not any Martha Stewart magazines laying around creating a gauntlet to overcome.
Over 10 days to finish your FIRST half gallon? I'm surprised you didn'tgo through it in a couple of days after such a hiatus. Still can't find it in north Dallas area...
I am assuming that Snek will never eat a cucumber or shop at HEB again after they were found to be selling salmonella cucumbers. In fact, after a few months, his diet may consist entirely of WWII K rations.
If they knew their processing was corrupted, dirty and spreading disease for a long time and did not care, I would not buy a certain companies cucumbers. You are right. It's because I am not a weak sucker.
On the front page of the Chronicle and Express News this morning, there is a report detailing the sanitation issues that Blue Bell had at the plant and how ownership ignored them even when approached by employees. It would appear that the Kruse family was more concerned with sales growth and brand building than plant maintenance, food safety, and the safety of their employees. I have worked in the food industry for over 20 years and have seen the best and worst of processing facilities. Those that guide their decisions by putting public trust first invariably are the most successful long term, those that do not eventually fail and in this case, kill people. I will repeat my above comment: F them.
I am right there with you, NJ. There was a clever rascally varmint that managed to place an empty tub of the Listeria Cream atop my hood.
Is this a new flavor of Blue Bell? I would think it would be safe if was made from this. I'm not sure of the taste, but there are a lot of options for new flavors. You would have fresh breath and all germs would be killed, not a bad compromise.
Some old coot desecrated my vehicle with his already eaten tub of potential sickness. I even saw said coot leaving place of commonality to do so, though not knowing it at the time. See, Snek had to double back to get a special backpack of libation for special people. Upon doing so, said coot was at said coot's vehicle getting said tub of potential sicnkess. Mere minutes after Snek supposedly left for a long time, but had to come back. Ahem.
I am deeply shocked and saddened to be accused of such a heinous act. Likely the debris blew out of a passing pickup truck. You should consider avoiding parking in lower rent neighborhoods.
I think snek could probably eat Blue Bell ice cream, if he chased it with his special libation. Here is secret footage of where snek gets his special drankin alkeehol. Snek can only talk about it now, cuz they done gone and started makin it the legal way. It's still the original stuff though. This here formula of Shine can kill any puny Blue Bell bacteria or even the plague. Once snek and those "special people" get a snootfull of this drankin alkeehol, they start to feeling their oats and have to kick up their heels.
Hmmm, the plot, it thickens. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/new...d-discontent-6499325.php?t=9444e170f2438d9cbb
Or if you want to know what is really happening in the food industry, including Blue Bell-you can read this article, which states that new FDA regulations will (hopefully) vastly improve food safety by placing the onus upon manufacturers before illness outbreaks occur, not after they occur as is currently the practice-not just at Blue Bell, but throughout the industry. The article states that one in six Americans is sickened by food products annually, so trying to claim Blue Bell is somehow the exception in an otherwise highly safe and clean food industry is not, in fact, accurate. http://www.mystatesman.com/news/business/in-wake-of-blue-bell-outbreak-fda-crafts-new-food-/nncTJ/
I am focusing on Blue Bell, a fraud of a Texas company that knowingly hurt people including my fellow beloved Texans. They don't love Texas, they don't love Texans and they cease being a part of Texas lore. They may as well have committed to Oklahoma freakshow because they are traitors.
With Patterson gone and Heard made the starting quarterback, this is the biggest controversy going on Hornfans. The ice cream feud has become front and center. The Hatfields and McCoys started over a hog, so why can't ice cream create a similar rivaly. The Pro Blue Bellers: You fellers better not be dissing the Blue Bell. It's a Texas tradition. Why I here tell everybody at the Alamo had some the night before the final battle. Audie Murphy won all them medals in WWII because he had his ma send him some Blue Bell to keep him fortified for all them battles he won. The Anti Blue Bellers: Why you fellers supporting them revenuers? You know that Blue Bell was undermined by the federal government to kill Texans for the succession talk and to have us realize how much we need them to survive. Them black helicopters had been going in and out of that there creamery for weeks before the sickness hit. They must be stopped at all costs, call out the Texas National guard!
