They are undefeated having won on the road at Louisville and at Tulsa. Plus Applewhite recruited Heard to run the spread. Ohio State has not been the same without Herman.
You have to be kidding me. We have amateur hour now. NO MORE OJT! I think Herman is probably going to be a really good HC, but he's been HC for how many games? BTW, all those against inferior talent. Major? Great player, not so much as an assistant.

I didn't say that. I said that the teams on University of Third Ward's schedule aren't exactly a juggernaut of SEC/Big XII talent. Just like Strong won in whatever the hell that conference is called but beating neverwas wannabes, Herman will likely be able to do the same thing. Like Strong, that does not make him a proven success in my world. Herman may be all that and a bag of chips, but for now none of us knows. We are THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, and we don't need to take those chances. Problem is, there are only a couple of proven coaches, and we Double P Express pissed them off.
^ this is fair. I cannot argue. If we are forced to try another American Conference coach, at least this one has Texas ties. However, we should try to find the best hire possible.
Previous third ward coaches.....Briles and Sumlin, hmmmmm that is sound logic, comparing level of competition........
Applewhite did pretty good at Texas and at Rice......by the way Graham is a defensive coach before you go there.....in 2013 with Case McCoy at the helm we played for a conference championship......
Darrell was 32 years old. Had three years of head coaching experience(which wasn't worth a ****), but he had a brain and great coaching skills. I see that in Herman and will never fault Major(Mack, you see). Hell, Rice offered Major the head coaching gig, but he choose to go to Syracuse with Robinson. Let's get some young guys and get going!
Things have changed a bit over the last 60 years, but Coach Royal had the ability to pick great assistants. That may be Charlie Strong's biggest downfall.
In Herman's defense, Ohio State's offense does not seem to be the same without him (but it is a bit early in the season to write off anything on Ohio State).
Staff changes have to be made following this season. 2-3 coaches need to be replaced and Strong has to make the right hires or next season will be his last.
