I agree with this, there are so many ways that you can use Joyner. You can use her on the wing, the post and if I'm Coach Aston I will play her at the point guard position as well. I'm obviously a Coach Aston fan but I must admit that the offense that she's running now, leaves a lot to be desired.

I just hope that with all the talent coming in that she can run an offense that gets the most out of them, not just Joyner but all the players. Coach Aston has shown that she can recruit at a high level, now it's time for her to step her X's and O's game up. It's time to run an offense that utilizes the players correctly and gets the most out of them.

Woohoo, finally Joyner to #1 with prospect nation to go along with Bluestar. Most people I talk to say this is overdue as she jumped ahead of Cox last year but better late than never.

They also included a piece about why Joyner jumped ahead - to boil it down: upside. Nice to see this from Sabrina Ionescu's coach:
“(Holmes) was the most feared player on the circuit,” Kelly Sopak, the coach for the Nike Nationals champion Cal Stars, said, “at least for us.”

And Alecia Sutton has risen all the way to number 10 in PN.

wow! great to see the rise of our 2016 verbals. Looks like the only game in town for Sabrina to go see will be VB vs ISU. Can't wait to see what she thinks of the campus, BB facilities, players and coaches.

Let's nail this one down. :hookem:

Anyone hear anything about when/if Ciera Johnson will be visiting? I recall someone reporting Natalie Chou would be visiting at the end of this month or in early November; wouldn't expect her to be visiting the same time as Ionescu.

I would have to say that one travesty in the rankings was moving Chou down. Probably due to her not being on the major circuit this year. She is most definitely a better, more versatile player than say Odom who seemed to take her place and also a far better person, and more coachable young lady. I watched Odom and was appalled at her attitude toward her teammates and her coach.

In the ESPNW article on their updated rankings: "Chou already has visited UCLA and Cal and has stops at Baylor and Texas on her October schedule." I read somewhere that Natalie would be visiting Texas the first weekend in November but I can't find anything directly from her.

The only thing I've heard from Ciera in an interview is that Texas was in her final 6, that she would take her officials and hoped to decide at the end of October.

Can someone explain something to me?

    Current verbals for 2016:
    Holmes
    Sutton
    Underwood

    Considering Texas for 2016:
    Ionescu
    Chou
    Johnson

    Current seniors for 2015-2016
    Davenport
    Rodrigo
    Sanders
    Boyette

    4 - 3 = 1 open scholarship?

And what about the other Caron-Goudreau twin?

Technically all 4 ships are filled. However, the numbers always seem to work out with players transferring for more playing time, etc. I would imagine the coaches wouldn't take more than one more player in this class, and I would be surprised if we received commitments from any of those 3 players left on the board. Ionescu is more than likely headed to Oregon to play with her twin brother or headed to Cal where many of her AAU teammates are going. Chou seems to be a Baylor lean...hope I'm wrong on that front. Either way, we have an amazing 2016 class!

Looks like the weather was a bit cool in Oregon for Sabrina's visit.

New ESPNW article on Lauren Cox.

I'm guessing the author of this article did not proof-read his writing. He writes, "Cox has cut her list of college choices to four: Baylor, Connecticut, Notre Dame and Tennessee".

But in the paragraph below, he writes, "Soon, though, Cox will have to get off that euphoric high of being the most heavily recruited female basketball player in the nation because she will have to tell four of those coaches that she has picked another school."

So is there a fifth school, perhaps Louisville, that the writer left off? Why would she have to tell 4 coaches she's not going to their program when she has cut her list to 4 schools. Makes no sense other than the writer failed to proof-read.

Failed to proof read is what I think. Louisville got the verbal from Ciera Johnson, and I think that was their last scholarship spot. They were probably recruiting the 'first come, first serve' for that last spot. But teams also over recruit, so I guess we will see.

I'm not sure where Texas fit in Sabrina Ionescu's pecking order but her brother committed to Oregon today. I don't think it's a deal-breaker because, of her finalists, Oregon was the only school that showed formal interest but it will definitely factor in to her decision.

Writeup on Ciera Johnson's commitment to Louisville; they have South Carolina and not us listed as a "finalist":

Regardless, I don't think she visited anyone other than Louisville, which is odd when that first first visit wasn't until early October. Good luck to her.

I'd honestly be shocked if she went anywhere else.
