Wow. Makes our issues pale by comparison. Perhaps we can pull one or two of his incoming five stars to the Forty Acres. They always have some... Not a great reflection on Haden either...
Seriously, point to USC's good moment since VY threw that knockout punch over 10 years ago? They've never been the same let alone the greatest team ever.
Outside of USC no one that I know in the PAC-12 was surprised. Joke is Oregon is being rumored high on Haden's list.
Duke nailed it. Haden fired Kiffen on the tar mac, suspended Sark earlier this year and now fired him mid season. All after Sark's exploits were well known at Washington, allegedly
Apparently chip kelly is on the short list. Leading me to wonder why...I understand the success he had and familiarity he has with the Pac 12 but so what? He's a walking NCAA infraction and there are plenty of good offensive minds out there. I just don't get the appeal.
Horrible hire by Pat in the first place. Haden needs to make a splash hire this time, or else his job may be on the line if the next one turns out to be a dud.
Once upon a time I had a very high regard for Pat Haden. Not so much any more. I live in SoCal and many here thought that Sark was an odd hire. Then there was the Haden sideline incident... It will be interesting to see how long he lasts at the school. But then again, Mike Garrett -- who many felt was the antithesis of a class act -- kept that job for a very long time.
Not good news for Texas. Now TX will have to battle USC for the top coaching candidates. With he two schools bidding against each other, the salaries will skyrocket. UT should have the edge, since $$$ is no issue here.
The interesting side battle to watch will be the litigation that follows for wrongful termination...after all, if he was supposedly going into treatment and gets canned the next day, you can expect that the claim will be that he was fired contrary to the ADA and that it was motivated by his desire for treatment for a 'medical condition.'
Joe, most with a brain are on Haden's case. However until USC hires an outsider the one branch family tree rules apply.
