Your boys had their backs against the wall. I underestimated the OL/DL. I was happy for Norvell. He's a good guy.

    Congrats. Enjoy it.

What’s the feeling in Soonerland about your team? It’s certainly not a squad lacking talented players. I was surprised at how successful we were with the run and getting defensive pressure on Mayfield. He’s a tough player and was impressive on your last scoring drive.

I was actually reluctant to watch because I thought we would get smoked, especially after the previous week’s dismantling by TCU. It’s a weird game, you never know what to expect.

Much appreciated! If you guys get your OL shored up, you should do well... I think that was the difference in the game. Man... never thought I'd be telling ANOTHER team that. That sounds like what I say about US every week.

Great wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I think reasonable people knew that we weren't going to go from 8-5 losing to OSU and Baylor/Clemson in the manner that we did, lose 3 Srs on the line (two of them NFL tackles), break in a new QB and new offense and then compete for a playoff spot. But, reason doesn't take hold in college football much. I like what I'm seeing. I think Riley wants to spread people out and still run. I like that. But, you have to have strong tackles to protect the edge if you put 5 in the patter in the passing game and, if you're going to try to spread them out and run you have to be able to make some seams with your interior linemen. We have young tackles who are going to be be very good but they're inexperienced. Our G C G is the weak spot of our team. I like our chances next year. I think this staff is really doing some good recruiting.

I think you guys created some good opportunities with turnovers and sacks. Your strength (DL) was matched against our weakness (G C G) and it showed. I would like to think that we'd have tried to make you guys pass more (12 times?) and I'd have liked to see us roll Mayfield out some and use the TE once or 5 times. But, I'm not a coach. I was at soccer and a basketball tournament. I listened. When we had you guys at 2nd and 12 at your own 10, I thought the momentum had swung and we had it. Then you guys killed it with that 80 yard run. I tried to watch on the DVR but deleted after 1 quarter.

So, I'll hope we can still build some for next year and try to gain some momentum.

    Opportunities for success!

We probably sent in 20+ passes but there were a couple of sacks and at least a half-dozen scrambles, maybe more, on called pass plays. Still a one-sided ratio, but not quite as ludicrous as the final numbers make it look.

The DL I knew had this in them, but just hadn't played up to it much this year, so while it's not what I expected, their performance wasn't a huge shock. But the OL we probably all underestimated, they frankly just weren't good or even average. 2013 made some sense in that we had a good running game most of the year and just stuck with it and then threw a couple of nice ones over the top when the D was thinking stack the box. 2015 I have no explanation for as of yet.

I cannot figure out why OU cannot find a quarterback better than Mayfield... and this is coming from a Texas fan. Mayfield is a Mack Brown reject that Mack was justified in rejecting... and somehow he is starting for OU. I do not understand what Stoopes is thinking with that one.

Mayfield is as tough as a boot! Typical Mack stupidity passing on him. "We liked Mason, right up the road in Georgetown, but we already had a kicker". JFC!!!!!!!

Texas has kicked Mayfield's butt at Texas Tech and OU. Kingsbury right rejected him. I do not know if you watched him Saturday or against us in 2013, but when under pressure he folds. Again, I do not know how he is starting at OU.

Name the QBs we had at the time, please.

I only needed to name one bad QB. His name is Mayfield. He got beat by Case McCoy, Swoopes and Heard on the field at two different schools. Texas needed a better QB, not a worse QB than what we had. Mayfield is worse than what we had. Again, did you not watch us play Tech in 2013 or us play OU Saturday?

Erxleben, the Tech punter, scored more points on us in that 2013 game than Mayfield did.

The QB wasn't the problem on Saturday. He wasn't great but 71.4% completion is pretty good given the havoc that he was dealing with in the "pocket".

If you have watched Mayfield against Texas you know he is/was a big part of the problem. Anyone who suggests Mack blew it by not recruiting him need only watch the two games against arguably two of the worse defenses Texas has produced.

Between Mayfield's inadequate play and ou's O and D lines ou had very little chance against Texas and even smaller chances against Tech, TCU and Baylor.

Limiting the conversation to this most recent game, as OUBubba did, I agree with him.

It's a premier brand, internationally acclaimed and respected, due largely to the superlative personnel decisions and Athletic Department leadership that brought in Charlie Strong, Shaka Smart, and many popular policy adjustments.

Mayfield isn't the problem but he isn't an OU level QB.

Okay, if you think we should have recruited Mayfield, imagine Mayfield, who folds under any pressure and makes bad pocket decisions, behind our offensive line last year. Swoopes would have beat him out. So would Case in 2013. That's not a compliment to Swoopes or Case.

I love how the girl in the GIF just smiles while the sooner dolts are dolting. She knows something. That image could become a classic.

Mayfield was the only Sooner who left everthing he had on the field, the guy showed alot of heart. May not be the most talented but he gives it everything he has.....

No, he should not have been a Longhorrn.
