I thought that too but his bio said "2014-".. guess they were counting the off-season. Anyway, even more to the point - does anyone leave a coaching job after one year? I don't care what the position is, I don't think that's right.

There is a group I am not sure that I would want to be associated with.

OSU started doing better when Jimmy Johnson and Pat Jones were there and have taken off after Boone Pickens, the real and original pirate, started loading them down with money during Miles' and Gundy's stays.

Not to say Miles is not very good when he has good players but my two LSU friends gave up on him a couple of years ago..

Fisher would be a good fit but so would the nice man at Notre Dame, who is one of the top five coaches in the country and has done real well everywhere.

I heard that Mile's best accomplishment is getting the LA recruits on campus and keeping them out of trouble. For a while the boosters were okay with that. Apparently, not anymore.

Stress level in Fort Worth is practically non-existent compared to what he would have to deal with at LSU...it would take a lot of zeroes on that check to make the stress worthwhile.

Done deal and will be announced Sunday , Monday at the latest during LSU press conference

Fisher has agreed to contract in principal just has to sign the paper work following his resignation at FSU.

Reports surfacing of new coaching staff and likely possibilities. The wheels are rolling to get this done ASAP since recruiting dead period starts on Dec. 15

I'll make a prediction. Miles to USC.
And that he has had the offer prior to settling with LSU.

    Jimbo Fisher to LSU?

That seems to be the consensus of the talking heads.

How similar are the careers of Les Miles and Mack Brown?

ESPN on their sports show saying tomorrow's game is Miles' last at LSU. The big dogs haven't confirmed that yet.

That's what I was thinking. Great recruiters, but arguably unable to get the most out of what they were able to bring in. But that may be where the comparison ends. No way Mack is forced out after the record Miles has amassed over the past several years. LSU is making a huge mistake.

Man, Coach Miles has handled this media attack with class...whomever wants him has made sure leaks reach public domain...if both Coach Strong and Miles earn another year which results in a coaching change at the end of 2016, I would welcome Coach Miles to the good guys based on outstanding performance as a HC. Simply can not find any negative issues with his HC record to date.

Not so sure about that; his record at Okie Lite was not so impressive. I would hire the Pirate before Lester.

For our next HC I don't want much, just...

A class act, an impeccably clean individual who can recruit, a coach who can work with the high school coaches in this state, coach up his players, teach, encourage, strategize, be creative on both sides of the ball, to be humble enough to understand that he cannot do everything by himself and is willing to share the glory and deligate to a capable staff, a coach that can manage the clock and handle the press.

He needs to be able to win 99% of the games he's supposed to win and 50% or more of the games he's not supposed to win.

It's a very narrow field but, there are a few out there. We just need to hire one of them.

In Les Miles coaching days at Okie State, he did not be UT ONE TIME.

Thanks Viper and I am in agreement with your comment. No question about the Pirate and his coaching ability at TTU and WS. It's my understanding he wanted to finish his coaching career near home or at home on the "Left" coast. Maybe..maybe not. Coach Miles, on the other hand, has shown great improvement after accepting the job in Red Stick. His coaching improvement, recruiting high school prospects, player development on the field and in classroom, and players active at the next level are impressive. And after beating "Johnny footballs" bunch last night I would say admin and media have egg on their respective bibs and may have jumped the gun with any premature story line concerning Coach Miles future. At any rate, I hope we do right by Coach Strong after this season. He is a first rate coach and human being and will be judged as such. Hook'em!
