The University of Iowa Fighting Greg Davises are having a good year.... still think they will lose to whoever they play in the B1G title game.

Heck! When he was our offensive coordinator, more people around here wanted him fired than want CS fired.
Interesting take from their game Friday against Nebraska. Iowa did NOT have ONE SINGLE 3rd down conversion.

bully for Greg Davis. His offense prevented us from having at least 6 conference titles during his tenure, vice the two we did get ... having a superman taking the snap both times.

I watched some of the Bama/Auburn game, and some of the LSU/aggy game ... and some of the ou/lite game.

It seems we are not the only ones with playstation playcalling, we just have it worse than most.

Bama; plays "milford style" offense during the first half ... narrow lead at half. 2nd half, Henry smash mouth with occasional play-action DOWNFIELD. Comfortable win in spite of what some Tiders think was overall poor play.

Miles' swamp kitties romp over the aggys with Fournette all the way to the red zone ... then start throwing/running sideways. Result; FG. Even aggy can defend against those silly plays.

Finally ... can anyone say Perine? I didn't watch all of boomer ... I was getting sick at my stomach, despite the other thread about rooting for sooner victory. So, maybe Mayfield was able to general some milford himself, but that would have been AFTER bloodying OSU's nose with Perine because I DID see that.

Try as they might, the bottom line is a good rushing attack is percentage football. We've been wowed with the Klinglers at Houston ... The Kingsbury's at Tech (hey, what's w/ the K names and flippant football?) and they were a flash in the pan. But they WERE a flash ... and that's what ESPN wants for their highlight reel. No TV producer likes a 9:30 14 play drive for a 3rd/goal 3 yard touchdown run. Too many clubs have fallen over themselves for the big bucks in TV contracts to oblige that style .. that perversion ... of the game.

So ... we have Milford. (if you need a reference, search Milford Texas 6 man state championship) Granted 6 man is a different game, but Milford took/takes it to a different level of "trickeration" as Mushburger calls it.

that scheme has infected full-division football, along with the progression of 7 on 7 being a thing beyond position practice, and has influenced the rewrite of rules to advantage the offense's ability to be "milford." Add to that the intense commercialization of the gameday itself ... and it's downright disgusting.

And only 250 yards of offense.
