I took the opportunity to renew and pay part in December 2016 for tax purposes.

The payment option suits many folks preference to pay out over a period of time rather than all at one time.

The Feb 4th early bird incentive is a commemorative coin that last year I gave to my grandson which he enjoyed.

My 2016 renewal is mostly banking on the anticipation of 2017.

Unlike last season, 2016 will serve as bridge providing us a win-win situation for future success. Way I see it either...

CS has us trending up at 8+ wins and 2017 holds real promise for a Big 12 title run.

    -OR-

CS struggles losing 6 or more, we lock down Herman, and 2017 has real promise for a Big 12 title run.

Regardless of what happens in 2016, it appears to me that 2017 will be a very happy renewal as the ensuing season will finally merit legitimate title expectations.

Either way, it's gonna be a wild ride the next few seasons.

Renewed last night. Why isn't the parking included on the application? It would seem simple to add it to the application and allocate by loyalty points.
We apparently will have to jump through hoops in some idiotic dog and pony show in order to get parking. I feel like I just got fleeced by a carny, paid a lot of money and won an "early bird coin" from the bottom shelf.

My renewal criteria was: 1. do well against baylor 2. good hiring decisions for open positions 3. results of recruiting class.

    So;
    1. Met - Baylor beaten
    2. Met - New and good OC and OL Coaches hired
    3. Met - Solid recruiting class #1 in the B12

Going to Austin on 2/19 to renew.

They don't include parking in application because they won't know what to charge until you select parking from what might be available when your turn comes. I am probably in the minority but I liked seeing what was available rather than just listing priorities and hoping they get it right.

So I talked to my new " contact" ( had been employed there a month).
Got the same answers, on parking and on not being able to sell grandfathered tickets except he didn't say it was only ticket brokers you couldn't sell to . He didn't say it was ok to sell to another Longhorn.
so what is the real answer.
Even after yesterdays great signing day I will wait to renew.

I'm 50/50 on it unless I ended up with purple checkered parking then I'm 100% against it

So, they would rather have a bunch of empty seats instead of letting us sell our tickets, even at face or less, to put Longhorn fans in the stadium. That's crazy! The ghost of Patterson lingering?

Do you know of anyone who had difficulty selling or giving away their "extra" tickets last season?

We gave four to friends because of my nephews wedding in Sept for the Rice game and purchased extra tickets for family for two games they wanted to go to.

We brought at an agreed price from folks that sit nearby and didn't go look on Stubhub.

This season ND, BU, WV and TCU we plan to buy extra tix as these will all be great games at DKR!

I was hesitant to renew the tix I've had for 17 yrs, but after signing day, I'm all in. Renewed yesterday, can't wait for next season and the next and the next...

I gave mine to friends and to my son to go to the games I did not attend. No issues with it.

I wrote an email to the AD voicing displeasure that the Pattersonisms (parking & ticket sales to others) were not rescinded this year under his administration. To no surprise, a reply was never received. :rolleyes1:

I suppose I'll fall in line with others and end up renewing in a couple of weeks. Didn't need the commemorative coin.

A valid ticket is required for admission not a photo ID.

I've sold to a Partner in the accounting firm I used to work for in Austin. She always insisted she buy them from me so she could take clients and write off the cost. I sold them at Face Value and had no issues. No one checked IDs and if they did it would take hours to get in the stadium.

The more time that passes, the more I am convinced that these rules were from Powers/Fenves and SP may have just been the fall guy/stooge. Honestly, Perrin is definitely a stooge. He's just a happier, friendlier stooge than Patterson that smiles. The real problems with the mismanagement at UT are at the top with Fenves and previously Powers. The athletic department is not going to be able to do anything. Until Fenves and the other Powers cronies go, such policies are what we will have.

I've only had season tickets for 15 years, so maybe that"s why I'm confused! We've had two losing seasons and they want to charge me $150 each year just to buy season tickets for my grandson. Pardon me, but I thought ticket sales were down. Any thoughts on this?

Season tickets are a long term show of support for your team. The last two seasons results were not good but my decision is based on the future not the recent past.
Ticket prices are not dynamic that show 50% fluctuations based on a single season otherwise I couldn't have afforded to attend in the 2004 to 2009 seasons.
In my 15+ years as a season ticket holder I have always appreciated knowing when I renewed that I would have the opportunity to get affordable future tickets.
Each year I have the choice to renew and continue my investment in the Horns or not renew and start at zero when I start the next time.
Looking forward to this season and many more to come.

^ However, they should not go up in price after losing seasons. See, they went up last year because of "future success in 2015" and we ended up with a worse record than in 2014.

33 seasons as a ticket holder, I've been through a lot of up and down cycles. This too shall pass.

If ticket prices were based on won/loss record, I could afford the McWilliams/Makovic era and been priced out of the Mack Brown era.
But ticket prices are based on the number who choose to purchase or not.
There are plenty of bargain seats in the high corners available at $199 for those looking to save money.
I prefer to sit with longtime friends and enjoy the game.

The number of buyers has decreased. The prices have gone up.

At this point in the 2016 season I don't know if the number of buyers has decreased or not.

In the Deloss era the goal was sellouts and excess tix were soldoff to ticket brokers/scalpers and the game could be called a sellout regardless of the opponent or attendance.

Now the new administration seems to be trying to sell the excess tix at a reduced price to attract new fans. $199 for six home games is very appealing.

We are probably have the best home schedule since tOSU.

ND, BU, WVA, and TCU on Friday 11/25 will all be very attractive games. UTEP and ISU will not be on the same level but all six make an attractive home schedule.

Waited till the last f-------g minute, and renewed for the 39th year, 31 in the same seats. But all of Patterson's insane policies are in place. I dare say the next increase will be our last, regardless of the product on the field.
