JFF has caused even Drew Carey to throw in the towel --

“You don’t have to support them just because they’re in Cleveland. You don’t have to support them. You don’t have to do it. … If somebody owned a sandwich shop in Cleveland, and they were selling (bleepy) sandwiches, you don’t have to buy the (bleepy) sandwiches just because they’re from Cleveland. You could buy sandwiches from anywhere. You could buy them from a chain.

“It’s stupid. You’re doing the same thing with the Browns. That’s a business, and they’re there to take your money and make a profit. … Quit buying it. I’ll buy the Browns when they’re worth buying it. That’s all there is to it. I’m sorry about it. I hope I’m not hurting anybody’s feelings. But I’m not a masochist. I’m not buying a bad product just because it’s from Cleveland.”

During the recruiting process, Mack called Manziel's father and talked to him. After he got off the phone, Mack said to Sally, "I want nothing to do with that family."

Heard that from the horse's mouth.

Mack wisely didn't recruit that POS.

JFF always looked to me like a crap storm looking for a place to happen. The fact that the crap storm happened in Cleveland, a crappy organization, was a perfect fit. I never thought Mack whiffed on him. I also understand that the whole family is like that.

A couple of years back, Dale Hansen the sports guy on ABC channel 8 News in Dallas, said that some day in the future that [JFF] " would be sitting alone in a bar someday and telling anybody who will listen that he once won the Heisman..." The way things are going for JFF, that's rather prophetic!

What BevoJoe said. I wonder if JFF's Heisman will go E-Bay or Pawn America?

I know a person that wanted to quit so bad for so many years and just could not. Scared me so much I only drink modestly. Considering his affluent upbringing I think JF will have a hard time getting motivated enough to be sober. The anger issues it brings out are scary. His NFL career is just about over.

No charges will be filed but he hit his ex very hard on her ear. He pulled her into his car by the hair and she used a knife to get him to leave her apartment. Just part of the story they just had on the news. They did not say why she did not file any charges.

I am sad my projections about the addict are coming more and more true. My consistent hope is that when he does break completely he does not take anybody down with him. He almost did with this instance. He's been in the making, or unmaking, for years now. His support network is **** and begins/ends with his parents and their "efforts". Guy almost needs to go to some 3rd world country and either teach English or farm for the rest of his life. He needs to get the hell away from here, everywhere here.

So far, he hasn't been charged. I don't get why his girlfriend continues to to be with him. Money talks I guess.

Sports Center just tweeted...."Johnny Manziel's agent says he is ending his professional relationship with the Brown's quarterback."

Does that mean he has an unprofessional relationship that will continue? Very curious....

More likely the tactful way of saying "the kid is toast...I won't ever see another commission off of a contract bearing his signature...hopefully he can get his life in order but I have to distance myself from this human train wreck."

Exactly. The product is tainted and no longer lucrative to Mr Agent. Business is business.

I used to take a little perverse delight in Johnny Football's comeuppance. Now it just makes me sad. He was an extraordinary college football talent. I pray that he can someday enjoy mental health and use his gifts to win and entertain.

Except, if injured, getting Amy Winehouse to rehab would be difficult.

And not because she's already dead.

Me too, I wish him well. I don't imagine that the spotlight and fame of the NFL is always an easy place to live for a young man.

I've always heard that guys like JFF have to hit rock bottom before they seek help and try to regain some good standard of life. There are also many like him that hit rock bottom and stay there denying they have a problem, and other that perish upon landing.

i genuinely wonder what rock bottom is for johnny anymore. my fear is that he hasnt hit it yet and that when he does he wont be able to come back (meaning as a person--not a football player) from it.

I think of the millions of dollars of donations and upgrades/renovations that A&M got all because of this guy. Sumlin was about an inch away from suspending him for the entire 2012 season because of his public life, and then he went on to win the Heisman anyhow. What a weirdly satisfying break.

I know for a fact that there are plenty of Aggies out there who look at the upgrades, transfers/decommits, and coaching mess over there and think "if only Johnny Football never existed...". They'd be just as mediocre on the field as they were in 2015, but at least all of their "gains" wouldn't have been ill-gotten. All for naught.

JF's father says his sons life is on the line. He stated today that he did not believe his son would see another birthday if he did not get help which he has refused twice in the past week.

He has a ton of problems and issues, but one of his biggest, imo, is that he craves to live the celebrity life more than he wants to be an athlete. Like Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton, he's addicted to the nightlife and adoration received from that environment.

For me, the time for joking, or poking fun at Manziel has passed. He has very serious addiction/personal problems which will, if not treated take his life one way or another. I wish the young man well and truly hope he gets the help he desperately needs.

So true, Cary. That time is long past. Again, I just hope that when he goes down he doesn't take people with him. He will mentally, however. Many will say so sad and then he will just fade away only to be a blip on the radar, a footnote in trivia questions and an example of what if and what could have been. People will say "wubba wubba" more than his name will be uttered.

So sad, so easy to see coming.
