The last couple of years, we've seen upperclassmen who have made little previous noise become serious contributors and team leaders. John Harris in 2014 and Jinkins in 2015.

Who will do it in 2016? My money is on Lorenzo Joe who always assumed his skills would be recognized. He's going to show up for spring determined to be so good he can't get overlooked.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Joe is a good pick. As I look at the roster, I cannot identify another player that will surprise except maybe Santos.

My votes are for receiver Dorian Leonard as the John Harris and linebacker Anthony Wheeler as the Peter Jenkins

Okay, don't throw anything at me, but what if it were Tyrone Swoopes?

with the criteria of "little previous noise" I'll go with Lorenzo Joe as well.

I was thinking the same thing. Or whoever is playing QB. I'm putting a lot of confidence in our new offensive coaches. Maybe I'm just hoping, but we will see.

Chris Warren has a breakout year.

    Holton Hill on D.

Freshman I can't wait to see- Daniels and Brandon Jones.

It seems that Caleb Bluiett has started to make some strides as a tight end.

I don't know but DeShon Elliott is going to break somebody in half before long.
Agree on this. Warren could be great.

I thought the subject in the OP was about "upperclassmen," that would have a breakout season.

What constitutes an upperclassman? Rising Junior/Senior only?

If that is the criteria, I'm hopeful Quincy Vasser or Bryce Cottrell will make big strides at DE.

I would like to see Tyrone have a really good Senior year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in 4 years, he's had 4 different OC/QB Coaches (counting 2016)

I can't picture Swoopes as an every down spread quarterback making rapid decisions about where to put the ball. But hey, who knows what great coaches can accomplish? I hope we keep the 18 wheeler package, giving defenses something to plan for or suffer the consequences. or maybe suffer anyway. There aren't many folks who can
chase down Jerrod Heard and tackle Swoopes.

I don't recall seeing one, but did we ever have Heard and Swoopes on the field at the same time last year?
