Has anyone else gotten the call from UT about baseball parking for the upcoming 2016 season? Evidently all lots will be closed and reserved parking moved to the Swim Center lot where a shuttle will get people back and forth to the stadium. Of course, suite parking will remain unchanged since that portion of Lot 104 is so highly utilized </sarcasm>.
My call last week was offering me parking in Manor Garage with a shuttle, so obviously your priority is higher than mine! I wrote back asking if the McCombs area lots were going to be available on a cash basis, permit basis or not available. Waiting for a reply. Did you previously park in Lot 104?
Our entire tailgate group had parked in 104 for the last 18+ years. It appears now we're being spread out all over. I swear, UT couldn't make it more difficult to be a fan if they tried.
I got the call today. After 30 years of (admittedly low-level) Longhorn Foundation donations, my loyalty points earned me the right to purchase a parking pass for Lots 113/114. I guess eventually parking will only be available for really big Longhorn Foundation donors who don't go to baseball games anyway.
For anyone who is in the Foundation and hasn't gotten a call yet, the reply I received was that they were working their way down the priority list. I was first offered Manor Garage for $75 (passes for the season). After asking about the McCombs lots was offered Lot 113 for $100 with overflow into 115. Not sure what other lots are being offered or for what prices, but that's what I was told. And 40 ACRZ, could not agree more about how cloak and dagger this process has been. I thought "transparency" was the point of letting us choose whether we did or did not want football parking and in what lots.... this baseball permit process is about as far from that as possible!
Wow...Glad I cancelled my season tickets for baseball. Will watch the games on TV. No parking problem here at the house.
It has been forever since I posted but this subject is near and dear to my heart. We have been given the Manor parking garage and sad to say this may be our last year for buying season tickets to baseball (since 1980!). The whole way it was handled left a very sour taste in my mouth.
I hear ya. I was shocked when offered Manor parking after renewing lower level baseball tix (4) and football tix (12) the last 23 years. Been in Lot 104 for a long while. With decades of a large amount of athletics tix and donations, strange how one goes from the prime parking lot to the other side of the highway.
