Read that article then remember Cruz's rhetoric that the US should be "carpet bombing" ISIS.

Yes, but our carpet bombing is done more humanely.

Is is true Hillary's solution to Islamic terrorism is love and hugs?
If so, which position is more dangerous?

I haven't heard anything like that from Hillary, though in the contortions made of all political speech, no doubt Joe Fan, somebody "heard" that. Anyway, I'm very hopeful we can find candidates who offer reasonable solutions.

I probably detest Hillary Clinton more than any other politician, but her approach to ISIS is probably better than Cruz's. His talk about carpet bombing is only a little more serious than Putin threatening to nuke them.

    Good grief

State Dept. counts 'bringing peace' to Syria as a 2015 "win"

"The State Department is counting "bringing peace" to Syria as one of its wins in 2015.

A boastful recap of the State Department’s accomplishments, written by spokesman John Kirby, includes the bold subheadline of "Bringing Peace, Security to Syria" above a more modest entry talking about U.S. aid for those affected by the country's turmoil and the U.S. push for a political transition from President Bashar Assad......"

    2015: Top 5 Kremlin Fakes
Stop Fake’s Margo Gontar selects most memorable Russian media inventions of the past year as Kremlin disinformation campaign branched out from Ukraine to Syria and beyond

    1. Ukraine’s Hitler Banknote

The Claim: On 12 January Russian TV channel Rossiya 1 reported that Ukrainian nationalistic political party Svoboda (‘freedom’) had proposed the introduction of a new 1,000 hryvnia banknote featuring a portrait of German dictator Adolf Hitler.

The Reality: Apparently the source of this fake news story was a photo-shopped banknote that was originally posted in the humour section of a Russian website. The fake was based on a genuine design proposal for a 1,000 hryvnia banknote – but the original design featured a portrait of Ukrainian author Panteleimon Kulish, not the German WWII dictator.

Comment: The Russian media likes to depict Ukrainians as Nazi-style fascists and are clearly prepared to use any opportunity to do so – even when the source is obviously dubious. This was merely one of numerous fake stories to appear in the Kremlin media in 2015 seeking to portray Ukrainians as Nazis.

Here is an updated Russian sortie map
Can see Putin is still doing the same thing post-cease-fire as he was back in December
The Russians are targeting the rebels and largely leaving ISIS alone

"A woman who brandished the severed head of a four-year-old girl in her care outside a Moscow metro station has said she beheaded the child to avenge Muslims killed in the Kremlin's campaign of air strikes in Syria.

In video posted online on Thursday and circulated by several prominent bloggers, 38-year-old Gulchekhra Bobokulova from Muslim-majority Uzbekistan gave her first detailed explanation of an incident that state TV channels chose not to report.

"I took revenge against those who spilled blood," Bobokulova told someone asking her questions off camera. "Putin spilled blood, planes carried out bombings. Why are Muslims being killed? They also want to live."

She also said she had wanted to go to live in Syria but did not have the money to do so. It was not clear when the video was filmed, but Bobokulova wore the same clothes as when she appeared in court on Wednesday......"

It was very effed up. I saw the video of the mom's reaction to being told what happened, and it just breaks your heart. She's in agony.

"Reuters: Russia, despite draw down, shipping more to Syria than removing"
    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-syria-russia-supplies-idUSKCN0WW0DJ

"When Vladimir Putin announced the withdrawal of most of Russia's military contingent from Syria there was an expectation that the Yauza, a Russian naval icebreaker and one of the mission's main supply vessels, would return home to its Arctic Ocean port.

Instead, three days after Putin's March 14 declaration, the Yauza, part of the "Syrian Express", the nickname given to the ships that have kept Russian forces supplied, left the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk for Tartous, Russia's naval facility in Syria.

Whatever it was carrying was heavy; it sat so low in the water that its load line was barely visible.

Its movements and those of other Russian ships in the two weeks since Putin's announcement of a partial withdrawal suggest Moscow has in fact shipped more equipment and supplies to Syria than it has brought back in the same period, a Reuters analysis shows.

It is not known what the ships were carrying or how much equipment has been flown out in giant cargo planes accompanying returning war planes.

But the movements - while only a partial snapshot - suggest Russia is working intensively to maintain its military infrastructure in Syria and to supply the Syrian army so that it can scale up again swiftly if need be.

Assad alleges Turkey is still allowing terrorists to pass through its borders and there are accusations that Turkey has been firing at Kurds on the Syrian side of the border and also that the Turkish military itself has made incursions. At least some of this is most likely true, as the Turkish President is practically at war with the Kurds and we don't know how serious the incursions are. But Putin would know. And if Turkey presents a problem, Russia will respond as they aren't too thrilled about the shoot down of their fighter plane.
