My challenge with whistleblowers like Snowden is that they expose the "tools" without any acknowledgement of why the tools were put in place. As much as I think terrorism is overhyped as a risk to our daily lives, it is still a risk. Much of the tools and methods were put in place to find the bad guys before they can act. Were they overreaching? Sure. Were they purposeless? Absolutely not. Any discussion of the secret methods needs to be done with the context of the people we are fighting.

Snowden also took the wrong path. The fact he's sitting in Russia protected by Putin erodes any credibility he has. At this point, he's a stooge whether he admits it or not.

Snowden is now, and has for some time been, a KGB (SVR) asset.

The "right path" would have resulted in a kangaroo trial without the public gaining access to anything. You might want to research what has happened to whistleblowers against the government that chose to follow the "right path."

    There's plenty

Even some evidence to suggest he had Russian ties while he was working at the NSA

Ever notice however anything Russian-related pops up here, this guy does too?
We have our own Moscow agitprop asigned to our little part of the internet. How flattering

I read/scanned the first five articles from the Google. link. There is no proof. Absolutely zero. The logical assumptions are that the FSB would of course try to extract information (its their job) from Snowden, and that Snowden would of course appreciate their protections. For Pete's sake, there are people in the US government that have stated he should be killed.

The right path would have been to use some discretion in what he leaked and what he didn't, rather than leaking everything and then blaming others for not showing the discretion he himself failed to show. The logical extension of his position is that the government never has the right to classify any sort of military secret at any time for any reason, ever.

    Let me help you.

The logical extension of his position is that the government never has the right to classify any sort of unconstitutional and illegal military secret at any time for any reason, ever.

Did Snowden end up taking his pole-dancing chick to Russia?

Had he confined his leaks to those things and only those things, then that would be correct.
